This thread is for help with the MecaFace add-on, such as info about updates. I will be answering any of your questions and also solve any bugs that you get and more.
Hey everyone! I plan on making a major update to mecaface after blender 3.0 comes out. Mostly because of the pose library and asset manager in blender 3.0. I look forward to working on it!
Have a good day!
Awesome! I can't wait!!!
Is there anything special that I need to check to keyframe the poses? I've imported my characters and have been animating their movements. However, the mecaface poses are not keyframing for some reason. I know I'm missing something stupidly simple, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks!
Hello, I bought the Mecaface addon, but when I try to extract the file, it gives me a password screen to unzip the file but I don't know where the password is, my question is where it's located since I don't know if I received it or not.
I need some advice from you on installing the "Mecaface" add-on. I bought and downloaded it recently and wanted to install it today, but I just won't be able to. I follow all the instructions in the manual, but every time I click "install", I see below that the modules have been installed, but I can't find them. Could you please help me?
Thanks.
Leonard

Nevermind, I managed to unzip the file with a third party application, also the face rig is pretty good!
i got mecaface and it's worked really well so far, but anytime I try to add it to multiple minifigs the first one disappears.
click finish after setting one figure up. then set up the next, then click finish. and so on

Are we allowed to make a tutorial on your face rig ?
of course i want
Hi there, I'm having an issue with the MecaFace rig, when I click finish I get the following error:
Python: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:usersmaboyappdataroamingblender foundationblender2.92scriptsaddonsMecaface__init__.py", line 494, in execute bb= objectss['DeOne']
KeyError: 'bpy_prop_collection[key]: key "DeOne" not found'
location:<unknown location>😶1
Any ideas?
Many Thanks
Also, I've imported a figure from mecabricks, how do I get rid of the existing face before adding a new one via the add on?
Thanks again.

Hi there all. Got the addon and love it.....but I'm trying to make a custom fig face. I know there is a way to edit the faces so that you can use custom eyes, mouths, colors, art styles etc (since I've seen people do it on short films) but I can't for the life of me figure out how. Anyone know how to edit the face.....even something simple like trying to make a face like good cop from the Lego movie or....adding teeth lines to the teeth part of the model but still be able to use the rig controls on them. Thanks in advance.
After all that.....I learned that if I just watch the tutorial that citrine put out without skipping the part that talks about it.......I can learn all about it. haha. But an in depth tutorial on customizing faces entirely would be awesome!
Any idea why my mecaface renders are showing up all muddled with this? Super unclean. Can't figure out how to fix it. I'm using a brand new MAC with sick graphics power and the latest version of Blender. I've tried rendering at 512 samples, using adaptive sampling and denoising and the result is super pixelated where the face overlay is.
I think I realized the problem. It renders fine with the EEVEE engine, but not with Cycles.
I found that the solution is to change the materials in the shader editor. When I disconnect the custom shader on e.g., InnerMouth.001 for the first face and run the rest of the mixtures through my Principled BSDF and custom mixture, it comes out pure black instead of muddled.
