LDD & LDraw Conversion Data
Sim started this discussion in Official LEGO® Sets and Parts

If your model imported with the LDD/LDRAW importer is having some bricks misplaced, it means that some of the -what we call- conversion data is still not completed for the misplaced bricks. You can report here (although it will be much at this time) if bricks are misplaced. Sometimes, bricks won't appear in Mecabricks as they don't exist yet.

Thanks, @wlange! 😃

Hi, wlange, this actuator should be added :

Please post part requests under http://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/50 including the part number and ideally a link to the respective Brickset or Bricklink page. Thank you.

30064 (LDD) should import to 3957v2 (Mecabricks)
18624 (LDD) should probably import to 4590 (Mecabricks)
2566 imports rotated 45 degrees more than it should be

1st: Brick 3957v2 has a rounded top; 30064 in LDD has not => I think this conversion is already correct.
2st: Brick 1x2 with horizontal holder (18624) is for sure incorrect imported, but the part it should be isn't in mecabricks yet.
(It's clearly not Plate 1X4 Split-Level (4590) in Mecabricks)
3rd: Fixed

Thanks UmbraManis!

In My LDD it shows 3957 as the flat top which is the same as Mecabricks' 3957 but then 30064 is the rounded top which matches the shape of the mecabricks 3957v2.

LEGO Moulds:

  • 3957: Rounded or flat top
  • 30064: Rounded or flat top (Reference for Trans. materials)

LDD Is therefore not really correct, but I modified the data so that 30064 imports as per LDD in Mecabricks.

4590 and 18624 are identical in LDD and seem to be aliases in Bricklink. I put both references in the Mecabricks importer.
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4590

It seems all the parts added in LDD 4.3.11 are missaligned and rotated improperly.

I don't have a reference list of new parts yet, and the update 4.3.11 isn't officially released so far. But I managed to save a copy. Could you post the bricks that are importing incorrectly? For the moment that seems the fastest way to help you out. 😉

You can get this file from SylvainLS on eurobricks. http://slswww.free.fr/new_in_2670.csv
this is quite accurate from what I have seen.

I don't need help with it. I can fix them manually 😃 I'm just posting this to let you know.
I noticed it on the 27507 27925 tiles. But other parts are also affected. The list Scrubs posted seems to be complete.

edit: thank you guys for wonderfull job you do!

The parts 27507 and 27925 have been corrected. 😃 I'm working on the list at the moment (25% done).

All parts available in the newest version of LDD and available in Mecabricks will now import correctly. 😉

@Sim: Cool! Haven't had the opportunity to follow up.

Wlange, about 400 new bricks in LDD (mainly minifigure parts). 😃

The new LDraw Converter has been launched ... but without conversion data so far. If you want to import a model into Mecabricks from LDraw, post here. We will prioritize the bricks in the model.

(It will take a few days/weeks to get this conversion data ready. )

@Sim, Let me know if there is anything i can do to help you with the conversions!

@Sealund I don't remember, do you have access to update LDD and Ldraw conversion data (Do you see an edit button when your mouse is over the cells)?

Nope, I don't...
