MOVIE DISCUSSION FORUM!
WizardBuilds1 a commencé cette discussion dans Community

(Well… I finally created a forum. There was no other place to geek out over cinema, so I thought I might make a forum for it. 😉)

One word: MOVIES.
Two more words: DISCUSS THEM.
Three more words: AND HAVE FUN.

THE RULES: (Please follow them…)

  1. No foul language, even if you’re quoting a movie. (And YES, the minor words count.)
  2. I’d prefer it if you didn’t discuss Horror movies. (Particularly Slasher, Splatter or Posession.)
  3. Please don’t post spam. (Nobody likes a spammer…)
  4. This is technically a forum for movies, but you can also discuss TV Shows.
  5. If you’re one of those people who believe reading is the “only way”, and never watched a good movie in their life…
(Well, you may be asked to leave. XD)

OPTIONAL: SOME DISCUSSION QUESTIONS! (With my answers given as examples!)

. What are your favorite movies? Geek out about them!
(Mine are Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Interstellar and The Matrix.)

. Are there any movies you hate? Complain about them!
(I detest The Star Wars Holiday Special, The Last Airbender and Cats.)

. Do you have a favorite actor, actress or director?
(Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tim Burton.)

. Do you have a favorite genre of film?
(I like many, but probably Sci-Fi!)

. Is there a specific movie scene that you enjoyed/moved you?
(Bing-Bong’s death from Inside Out made me tear up.)

. (Oddly specific) Are there any films that you wish would get turned into a LEGO theme?
(DreamWorks sets would be great, especially HtTYD or Kung Fu Panda!)

. Have you seen any good movies lately? Recommend them!
(Well…Edge of Tomorrow, obviously. XD)

i just watched all the LOTR and the hobbit movies, but why did Saruman make Gandalf forcefully breakdance in fellowship of the ring ?

I saw No way home 3 times in theaters the third time was at like 10:00 PM

Does anyone feel like the Toy Story franchise is overrated? It was a good start to Pixar’s career, but aside from the voice acting and animation, the story never resonated that much with me. (Except for the Toy Story 3 ending… It was freaking emotional.)

Toy Story Lore: Your toys come to life when you aren’t paying attention… 😳

Kung Fu Panda Lore: Dragon Warrior, Furious Five, Dragon Scroll, Pool of Sacred Tears, Wuxi Finger Hold, peacocks & fireworks, Inner Peace, panda genocide, Chi, secret panda village, Spirit Realm.

🎶You didn’t have to cUuUt me out…🎶 😂

So basically the angels from dr who ?

hasn’t watched Dr. Who
Right, of course! Those things… 😁

Weeping angels, I think 😁
I remember them fondly from Lego Dimensions. geeeeeeeez that level was creepy....

Edit: I loved Toy Story 2, it was the Zootropolis/Zootopia of my childhood

Anyone see the trailer for The Quest on Disney+? It looks pretty interesting.

Justy’s story is getting a Disney+ series?! 😱 GOOD FOR HIM!! 😂

Yup! It’s going to be like those interactive shows Netflix has! 😂

It’s actually made by the makers of LoTR

have any of you seen foundations? or modern family?

"It’s actually made by the makers of LoTR"

Isn't Tolkien dead?

The LoTR movies, also yes he died. 😦

@Stat, Nerp

Moon knight is the only marvel show i don't have any problems with yet

Wandavision was great but the finale kinda sucked

FATWS was great but the villain wasn't that well written

Although wiz saying its the best piece of media ever, Loki was a mixed bag, the first half as boring and slowly paced and the second half is everything i ever wanted

What if was a Huge Mixed Bag

And don't get me started on Hawkeye

Hopefully moon knight doesn't go downhill

At first, my favorite “MCU story” was Endgame. But I changed my mind.
Loki is #1.

When it came out, I wasn’t anticipating it that much. I definitely didn’t expect it to be better than WandaVision…
But after I got to episode 4… WHOO, boy…

The characters are impossibly well-written for a 6-episode series, the storytelling is really creative, the finale is heartbreaking, and the soundtrack by Natalie Holt is a dream.

In my opinion, Loki is a 10/10 masterpiece on every level. (I would gladly rewatch it over and over, if I didn’t have so much stuff on my watchlist…)

(But Moon Knight is awesome so far, I’m really enjoying it…)

It’s kind of sad how Moon Knight is being review-bombed so much…
On the first day it came out, it had a score of 8.7 on IMDB. But then, it was flooded with stupid reviews, and the next day it was 7.3!
(At least it’s climbing higher, at 7.7 now…)

I think the only Marvel show that was bad was FATWS because it had too much politics.

That is very true.

Yep, FaTWS was pretty bad… But I was also very disappointed by What If…? and Hawkeye

What If…?

  1. The episodes felt too short to tell an emotionally compelling story. The plot in each episode was too rushed.
  2. They made an entire episode about Thor throwing a party. -_-
  3. A lot of the original MCU actors are replaced by cheap voice actors.
  4. The humor is really lame and inappropriate for the situations they find themselves in. After Thor dies in episode 2, Fury and Coulson crowd around him, sniffing his aroma. (Because that’s what you do when a man dies…?)
  5. Bucky kills Zombified Steve like he doesn’t even care about their decades of friendship. (They could’ve show him LOOKING SAD…)
  6. They didn’t provide a backstory for Warlord Gamora.
  7. Instead, THEY MADE AN ENTIRE EPISODE ABOUT THOR THROWING A PARTY!! 😩 WHO WAS IN CHARGE OF THIS SHOW?!?
  8. A lot of the time, they made character team-ups merely for fan-service, without paying attention to character development itself.
  9. I really liked episode 4 and 8, though. Exciting, compelling stories. And Supereme Strange is a great character.
  10. And it was great seeing Chadwick Boseman one last time… Wakanda Forever. 😦

Hawkeye:

  1. Barely has a plot. Clint Barton teams up with a random archer girl he finds on the street, so they can take down a group of Russian guys wearing red tracksuits. Is this an actual comic arc by Stan Lee? Because… -_-
  2. In my opinion, Kate Bishop is a really annoying Mary Sue character. She never listens to Clint’s advice, treats her stepfather horribly for no reason, and doesn’t seem to care when her mom gets thrown in jail. Still, she becomes an Avenger through sheer luck. Oh, she’s also “the World’s Greatest Archer.” 😒
  3. And what’s the deal with Kate’s backstory? She trains herself in a bunch of archery and martial arts, in case there’s…another alien invasion? How’s that going to help her? What happened, Hailee Steinfeld? You were so great as Gwen Stacy!! (They just gave her a terrible script, I guess…)
  4. The villains are just generic “henchmen”, who act like supervillain goons instead of hardened criminals. You could consider the “Russian” thing racist, too…
  5. Echo feels like an undeveloped villain, too. But it’s cool that they made her deaf.
  6. The series feels really campy and Christmas-y, like something you’d find on the 2000’s Disney channel. There are barely any “superhero moments”, just a few fight scenes with trick arrows.
  7. Clint Barely gets to do anything for the entire show… Jeremy Renner gives a pretty good performance, though.
  8. Yelena immediately forgives Clint after one or two episodes, which makes the “big tease” in Black Widow seem pointless.
  9. I’ve said it before, but Kingpin is just really weird… What’s going on with the Hawaiian shirt? 😂 Also, the final fight between Kate and Kingpin is really underwhelming. It lasts for 2 minutes, and Kate barely touches him.
  10. I can’t hate Rogers: The Musical, though. Bless Marvel for including the full song in the end credits... 😊
