Good! Hopefully what Lax and I said helped. Have a great day! 😃

For those following this thread, I've added a section called Let's Build a Minifigure!. It shows you how to make custom minifigure parts.

.....Voltron, beautiful... Is there anything similar to Inkscape that can be downloaded on Linux easily? If not, I can use Windows.

Do you need an alternative to Inkscape? Because it is compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac, although I can't vouch for how it runs on those.

Here's an article I found on installing it with Linux:

If you're looking for alternatives, hopefully someone will chime in. In the mean time, here's a link to a AlternativeTo:

GRACIAS con este tutorial porfin pude hacer a NARUTO de LEGO

¡Muy agradable! Y bienvenido a MecaBricks

¡Me alegro de que yo, LEGOminis y B1Trash pudimos ayudar!

gracias verdaderamente me ayudaron

Thank you B1Trash, I was able to download Inkscape on a Windows 10 computer, but said computer likes to crash a lot, so it's kind of rocky to be using it for Mecabricks, but my problem is mostly sizing. I have a great PNG to use, but it's just too big, and I was able to make it the right size, but it pixelated the heck out of it. I just have a problem figuring these things out.

And I can't figure out how to add the UV Map either, it wants to create another window on Inkscape.

Have you tried using https://pixlr.com/x/ ?

@Captain Victoria -

To add the UV Map to Inkscape, you can drag and drop it from a file folder (or the desktop) into the application. Or you can do File -> Import to bring it in. If you're trying to modify a PNG image, then Inkscape may not be your best bet.

I prefer Inkscape for making decorations, but I'm also creating them from scratch. Inkscape saves SVG images, which are built out of shapes layered on top of each other. You can change the order, color, border, or even the shape of a shape. It's very flexible. It's also good for making official (or official styled) decorations because they tend to use a limited color palette. Inkscape excels at this type of work. Then once you're happy with your work, you can export a PNG from there, which is kind of like taking a photo of the SVG artwork.

But while you can import a PNG into Inkscape, you really can't edit it there. If you want to edit a PNG (or JPG) image, then GIMP, Photoshop, or as Lax has suggested, PIXLR would all be a better option. Any of these will edit the picture pixel by pixel.

If you don't mind sharing your image and which part you're trying to put it on, I'm sure someone here would be more than happy to help with shrinking it down for you.

justo queria construir una minifigura

whoops

Okay, I can find it on google. https://www.google.com/search?q=greatest+american+hero+logo+png&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=Vm45mRvJCft8xM%252CNG😝2X6YpIMypM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kTMjmteNb7NrKXPHbsGNqx_GGiPeA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjZkpLmqtHvAhU0IDQIHZv6DKAQ9QF6BAgREAE&biw=1221&bih=893#imgrc=Vm45mRvJCft8xM

Will this work? I might end up making one myself if I've been using the wrong one, I'd imagine the resolution issue is because Inkscape loaded in as the size of the image?

I'm trying to put it on a 3814 torso piece. I even have the UV Map downloaded.

@CV- Inkscape is horrible with exporting images if the Image Rendering is set to AUTO. You may get better results if you change the setting to optimizeQuality. In Inkscape, right click on the image and select Object Properties. Then you can change the Image Rendering mode to optimizeQuality. This will set the mode for that image only. Also, make sure your source image is the best quality you can find. For instance, with the link you provided, the first image that pops up for me is from pngjoy.com. The outer ring is nice and crisp, but the logo is severely pixelated. I wouldn't use this image unless it was my only option. The second image for me is from Headhunter's Holosuite Wiki... This one seems much better quality.

If you don't want to trace it, here is what I would do:

  1. Open Inkscape and import the UV map (File -> Import).
  2. Hit [Ctrl]+[R]. This will resize the page to match the UV map. It will help us in the export.
  3. Import the logo into Inscape (File -> Import).
  4. Scale the image to the correct location on the UV map.
  5. Change the Image Rendering mode for the logo (Select it -> Right Click -> Object Properties -> Image Rendering: optimizeQuality).
  6. Hide the UV map (Select it -> Right Click -> Hide Selected Objects).
  7. Export the PNG image ([Ctrl]+[Shift]+[E] -> Export Area: Page; Image Size -> Width/Height: 1024/1024; Filename: As Required -> Export)

Hopefully this helps. I tried it and I got satisfactory results with that second image both in Inkscape and GIMP. Let me know if you're still having trouble.

@B1Trash

Thank you! I think I did set it to Optimize quality, but i didn't do any of the other stuff. I'll try it and if I still have problems, I'll tell you.

Or rather once the computer stops acting up. which I'm sure will be soon enough.

gracias @B1Trash, con tu ayuda hice esto: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/Jk2EPN4Za9A
