How can I customize parts? It won't let me edit them and I'm using Google Chrome. Can you help me, please? Never mind. I figure it out.

Which parts?

If I wanted to make my own image where should I make and what is "uvmap"
one more thing what if I wanted to change a part that already had an image on it say a blackfalcon torso?

Im new to this whole thing just to let you know

Where to make? - I personally like to use a free program called Inkscape to do my drawing, but any app that supports layers and that can save or export a PNG file will work.

What is a UV map? - The image that you make is in 2D. Think of it like a sheet of wrapping paper. Now how do you wrap that paper around your 3D part? The UV map tells the program how to wrap the image around the part... and it shows you what parts of the image will go where on the part. So it is a template for you. This is why you want to use an app that supports layers, because you'll want to hide the UV map before you export or you will have extra gridlines on your part.

What if I want to modify an existing part? - You can open the part in the workshop and then export it. The default Collada (.dae) option works fine. It will download a ZIP file. Look around inside there and you'll find the image texture that you can modify.

Good luck and have fun!

Hey! i found another way to do this!
if you have a phone do this:

  • Sign Into MECABRICKS on your mobile/smart device on the website, ( use same user info ) >
    Open up PARTS manager > select the piece you want > CUSTOM > download the uv face > next, install any type of photo editing or drawing app that allows you to download the photo > edit the photo to match the uv face > go back to your browser > go back to MECABRICKS > PARTS manager > CUSTOM > put the photo you just downloaded onto the uv1/2 model > save it > go back to your computer and the brick'll be there

I'm trying to make a custom color for the Diamond with Stick. How do I make transparent bright purple?

It's not possible in Mecabricks.

.........................Oh.......................

Hi i tried to decorate my brick but i dont see step 2 any where. It does not have the decorate button. Can you help me?

Hi Luz... which part?

the button to decorate the brick. I looked for it but I did not see it.

Luz, which brick?

Can I add transparent bright purple to it somehow?

On the material tab, click on where it says solid and there is where you can switch to transparent. If you want to add a custom color then you cannot. You can only use colors from the Lego library. If it is an older color, you can check the Legacy checkbox and you will get more options.

I am decorating a torso, but my design just goes over the whole entire torso instead of just one side. What should I do?

How to do arms?

@Brickhead130-
If it does the front and back, it's possible in Mecabricks. Just use the template and do the back on the bottom area of the template. If your design goes on the side, it is not possible in Mecabricks right now.

@T.O.S.H.-
Read thru this... if you have any more questions, the more specific you ask, the easer it will be to answer. Let's Build a Minifigure!

Thanks and also

200th post on this forum!!!

Is there a template for the arms cause I can’t find it

How do I make the design only go onto the bottom area?

In the video, it shows the design automatically going to one section of the torso. Mine just takes up the whole space.
