Oh look, we discovered a new page!

D_R - Cool! I’ve never heard of that show, but it looks good. 😃 You live in a family of 11?!? O_O (What, are some of them adopted? 😂)
That’d be nice, having such a big family! 😃
I live in a small family of 4, (including me 😉) with two extra siblings in Heaven. 😊

D_R - 😂 Yeah, Hagrid’s not the best speller… 😂

@Wiz, No, none are adopted. There's nine kids, including myself.
It is, especially in lockdowns!
Nice!
(I have two siblings in Heaven, too. Can't wait to meet them!)

D_R - Awesome! (That’d come with a lot of responsibility, though… 😁) My only sibling is my sister, (who’s two years older than me) so I’ve never been the “Big Brother” before.

Dang wow some of y'all have big fams. I'm the middle child of three, which is terrible.

fyi never be the middle child. No benifits.

I don't know if I told y'all, but I made the town travel soccer team and Thats why I haven't been active recently.

@Drp, yeah I feel ya.

I'm in a family of 5, 4 chidlers including me, and 4 up in heaven. along with dad. . . so they must be having fun 😆 (can't wait to meet them)

FB - Nice Roald Dahl reference! 😉
I’m glad to be hanging out with such well-read human beans! 😄:+1:

Edit: Your Dad is in Heaven? I’m really sorry. 😦

So we's talking about bookses are we, precious?

Harry Potter was well done, there is a lot of Christian symbolism, covered in detail by John Granger in his book, Harry Potter: The Meaning behind the Mania. I understand a lot of Chfristians don't like it, but it's really not bad.

The Wingfeather Saga is good, but I feel like the rocky start kinda diminishes the value slightly; I am looking forward to the upcoming TV show, however.

My personal favourite author is (surprise surprise) Bryan Davis. I appreciate his backstory (he was an IT guy for like 20 years before following a dream to become an author), and his writing is just phenomenal. His books are one of the few ones I would rate either above or at the same level with C.S. Lewis.

Speaking of which, C.S. Lewis' space trilogy is really, really good. The third book is the best yet the hardest to understand.

I like Tolkien's work as well. (I am ashamed of the way the franchise has been headed lately, though.)

And as far as TV goes, WandaVision was ok. FatWS had some good action, but the removed virus-related subplot and lack of any future consequences for the MCU (not to mention the messed up messaging) made it in no respect worth a watch. Loki was nice, I didn't like episode 3, but as a whole I enjoyed it. And What if...? has to be the best show I've seen in a long time.

Honestly, most modern shows aren't worth a watch. In fact, in my arrogant opinion, most shows after 2010 don't deserve viewing, (though, of course, there are exceptions such as the earlier seasons of Ninjago or Race to the Edge). Not that new stuff is necessarily bad, it's just the 2000s were the golden age of politics, story, and animation not getting in the way of each other.

I could go on, but enough said for now 😃

its my anniversary today. . . o_o not like its important or anything,

Pyro - 👍 I agree with most of that! (Except What If…? being one of the best shows… 😄)

FB - ## Happy anniversary!! 🎉 🎉

@Wiz, thanks 😄

@FB, yo happy anniversary bro!!!

@Pyro, dang, that last bit is a solid observation! 👍

Have any of you all read the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series? Quite interesting, and the worldbuilding is awesome, Michael Scott is a great author. Still, not on par with Lewis or Tolkien by any means. Definitely a style I enjoy (similar to HP in some ways, but much less whimsical).

Basically, the premise of the story type is that all mythologies are connected. I love all things history and mythology, so it’s a ton of fun.

But I feel like we’ve kinda left one amazing author out of this discussion! Tolkein, one of the most masterful authors of all time. Knows how to write an amazing story (best example: The Hobbit), build one of the most detailed worlds complete with its own history and languages (Middle Earth, what else?), and also writing for the right reasons.

Do not get me wrong, there are thousands of great authors and books/series, but Tolkien cannot be overlooked. 😂

Wiz: Out of the books you mentioned, I’ve actually only heard of Ender’s Game (which I’m very interested in reading) and of course HP. I need to read more stuff. 😂

D_R: Oof! This is the thing, is The Force magic? Or is The One Ring magic? From a certain point of view, yes. What one must do is read/view things of that sort with the knowledge that it’s make-believe. 😂 I can see why parents would be worried, but as long as you know it’s not real, it’s fine. Unlike most modern fiction, Harry Potter is very clean, and always shows the bad guys as the bad guys. I think you’ll enjoy it, but also part of enjoying it is reading it before you’re 11, and . . . just wondering. 😂

On family size: I have two siblings, and I’m the eldest among them. Can’t quite remember if anyone else here is an oldest child, but yeah. 😂 Got its disadvantages and advantages.

FB: Congrats on one year! 🥳

Pyro: As Knight said, very solid observation, that last one! And sadly quite true. Politics are mixed in with entertainment too much nowadays . . . at least people know what it’s like to have something you might not like on the silver screen. 😂

@Op, thanks 😄

Pyro is the oldest I'm second oldest. then we have 3 other siblings in heaven then A- (wooops o_o) then two other ones here. then another in heaven.

@Dragon
My family kinda went through a "Waltons" phase. 😆
It's a pretty good show IMO.
Funny, my family was watching the show "Leave it to Beaver"
today, and "Beaver's" brother told him to "dry up" 😆

I have 2 siblings in heaven as well.
Excited to meet them!
And if not on this earth, y'all! 😄

@Snap, yeah can't wait to see you guys 😄 I mean we could try to all go to hutch moot. . . I'd bring my sword that way it'd be obvious who I was 😂

Wiz: Also! I really, REALLY want to get D+ and watch those shows. 😂 I can’t wait for the finale of What If?!
