You know, just as a question, which I'm sure a lot of us are wondering... why won't LEGO just come out and keep making LOTR and Hobbit sets? Their building techniques have increased like crazy over that past few years, and I'm certain they could make some very appealing sets to even picky LOTR fans... so why not?
Well... now that I think about... Amazon owns the film rights... and I don't think LEGO has worked with them before... so... that could cause some trouble... possibly...
Maybe because they've retired that series? I don't know.
I think they still have rights to LOTR, cuz we can submit LEGO Ideas sets for it

There are actually quite a few good LOTR sets on Ideas. (very few of them have ever made it to 10k tho)
Growing up, I used to play LEGO LoTR on my PS3. Best game I've ever played, right along LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and LEGO MARVEL Avengers.
