## Digital Design and Rendering contest
A few years ago, I organised a digital design competition based on the Scooby Doo sets. The old timers from Mecabricks may remember it. This year Mecabricks became a Recognized LEGO Online Community (RLOC) which allows us to receive support from the LEGO Group for activities. To celebrate this achievement I have decided to organise a new contest.
## 1. Goal
Participants shall select ONE of the official Speed Champions cars, build a diorama made of LEGO elements and produce a rendered image of the scene. Only the final image will be judged.
## 2. Submitting your entry
Image shall be posted in the render section, of the official set the car belongs to. Copy the link and post your entry in the designated Entry topic along with the image.

## 3. Deadline
Entries shall be submitted by Sunday 20th May 2018 11:59pm UTC. Entries submitted after will not be considered.
## 4. Summary and Additional Rules
## 5. Prizes
## 6. Judging
Three Mecabricks power users will rank the entries according to three criteria:
@Scrubs
Do we have to use all parts of the set we choose (e.g. the minifig)?
Also, can we make more than one entry?
@CPBrickMaster You shall not really use anything in the set other than the car you chose. You shall build your own scene around.
From the rule section in the first post:
Only one entry per person.
@Scrubs
Ok. Thanks! Somehow missed it! 😉
@Scrubs Can we use the whole set. Even if it has more than one car?
@Samino No only one official car, if there is another one in the set, it shall not be used. You can add custom vehicles that you designed though.
So I can't use this?:
You cannot use this image as it includes 2 official cars. The goal is also to build a custom scenery around it. So if you just render an existing set, it defeats the purpose of the contest. Also remember that the minimum resolution shall be 1920x1080.
@Scrubs That would not have been the final model. I have been working on it for the past week or so.

As you can see, the rendering was just a "quick test" rendering.
I was using the free version of the Mecabricks Render Farm so the pixels were 50% of 1920x1080 at 250 samples.
Rules states:
Only ONE official Speed Champions car is allowed in the scene. Other vehicles may be included but shall be original creations.
So if you want your entry to be valid, you will have to design a second custom car or have only 1 Porsche cross the line 😃
@Scrubs Okay 😭
I was really hoping this one would be good. At least I have another entry I'm working on!
Also, did you receive my PM?
What does (Rendering technic) mean?
To summarise, this is how well you control your 3D software / rendering engine. e.g. materials look.
@Scrubs On the ([Speed Champions Contest] Entries) page, it says (Do not not use this thread to post comments or questions.) I just wanted let you know that it says (not) twice. 😃
Hi, I am trying to post my image. What or where can I do in order for contest entry? Please advise.
@jupiterw0ng
You have to go to the Mecabricks page of the vehicle you're using in your rendering, then click on "Renderings" and furthermore on the small + sign in the lower right corner of the rendering area. Add your own rendering, then click on the small "Share" button in the upper right corner (beneath the download button) and copy the link the button provides. It should look similar to "https://www.mecabricks.com/image/rendering/o/xyz.fileformat".
Then go to the entry topic (https://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/999) and enter ![your copied link](your copied link) there. Now you're done. 😉
That is helpful.
Just testing it. 😉
Hi i am new at this whole thing so can i have some help?
What are you asking about Drago? I can try to help 😃
~~This post requested help for rendering my entry, and was moved as it was slightly off topic to this thread.
If interested, please see here: https://mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/1024#post9746
-Masman~~
No need now, Sheep It was not working so I found another method. 😃
@Masman8675 I can help! Any extra SheepIt! points are welcome. Do you have a time estimate for the render? If it is more than 5-7 hours, you would probably have to wait until the weekend. Then, I can render a frame with a time of 20+ hours! 😄
