This is not a revolution but quite a few little things have been improved or fixed.
Hi friends I have a question are there plans to make this script, free as the high resolution minifig.
@Blender4bricks No. This is a way for people who like Mecabricks to get something cool that required a lot of time to make as well as helping the website to survive.
Hello, I tried to import the Collada file to Blender.
And then when running the script, it took about 30 minutes and not yet finished.
So I canceled the process, since my previous experience when importing with Lite 1.8.9 is not like this one.
Is it normal ?
Hello. Yes it is. This script requires a lot of processing to clean and prepare the meshes. I know that it took about 30 min to renderbricks for the rocket and launch pad of his video. Probably about 10k parts.
Hi all... you can run Blender with the console window open and you will be able to follow the script progress... and yes it can be very long, but as long as you see it moving in the console window you can let it cook! 😉 ang grab a cup of coffee... or two...
Script has been updated to 0.1.8
Check the change log on the product page.
Great! Thank you!
It looks MUCH faster after the first tries, both for running the script and for scene building... 😃
Another little update to 0.1.9
Reactivated by default the use of the edge split modifier due to flat surfaces being rounded.
It increases the execution time but looks way better. You can still deactivate it if you wish.
Hi all, I'm having a problem applying the Subdivision Script, using template 0.1.9. Console says: Traceback (most recent call last) :
File "C: User/Folder/.blend file/Subdivision.py", line 27, in <module>
KeyError: 'bpy_prop_collection[key] : "EdgeSplit" not found'
Error: Python Script Fail, look in the console for now... And for some reason it will subdivide one piece, and come up with the error. All parts are selected as well. 😕
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Subdivision script doesn't work anymore unless you change the option not to apply modifiers in replace.py. Just manually put a subdivision modifier to the part you wish to subdivide for now.
Okay, thanks!
Script has been updated to revision 0.1.10. Make sure you empty your browser cache and re-download the file. Old revisions do not work anymore.
Workshop export code has been modified to accommodate fo the Lite Script becoming an Add-on.
The Advanced script will also be turned into an add-on in the next few weeks.
That's great! Thank you very much!
Is it possible to add the few lines for the Freestyle edges marking and color assignment?? I can send you the modified colors.py, and the lines in question...
And having a couple of options to tick during the import process for bevel edges, applying modifiers, edge split modifiers, etc... would be great!
Cheers
David
Yes, send it to me.
Script has been converted to an Add-on (1.0.0). Re-download the files now.
It includes the add-on, two templates and a user manual to learn about the preferences and settings.
Remember to remove the Lite Add-on before installing the Advanced add-on. Lite shaders are now also included in the Advanced Add-on.
Now it's an all in one?! YEAA! Thanks Scrubs!
New revision 1.0.1
All former revisions do not work anymore as the workshop exporter code had to be updated.
Empty your browser cache and install the new add-on.
Check the change log. There are some cool stuff like the auto handling of parts including multiple transparent areas. e.g. 24097d1
I can import parts or 3d models for other origin (no mecabricks) and it works? for example pieces of lego digital designer or ldraw for especific pieces for projects an after scale
Everything is possible with Blender, but it will not work automatically. It would be a very manual process.
