Ah, there we are...

Thanks Scrubs!

I have done some renderings with this advanced add-on. But somehow, I haven't find the realistic value of "Color Shift & Wear and Tear". Have anyone found the realistic one?

@Kamteey Personally, I like to set it to 0%, and then tweak individual settings.

It really depends on what you intend to convey with your scene. Brand new pieces really look different to 1970s bricks that have been played with for ages.

That would be great, @Masman8675! But I think it would took more time than just play with the "Color Shift & Wear and Tear" value..

Yes, @Scrubs. I should find a perfect reference for doing it then..

Hello,

I recently purchased your plugin. The results online look promising, but I am getting a critical error. I tried everything, reinstalling the addon, reinstalling Blender, using a portable version, installing the plugin manually, using different models, etc. The actual .dae is intact and works correctly, it is the addon that is screwing something up.

Here are two screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/kq8x3

Hello. I sent you emails and after looking at your error screenshot here, the solution is in my email number 2. You may have moved the .dae file outside of the unzipped folder and therefore the add-on cannot find the assets.

Hallo Scrubs,

I've installed Blender 2.79 and the newest Advanced Script. How can I disable the advanced shader? The 'User Preferences Dialog' don't show any preference settings.

Thanks

Small update 1.1.1 to support new materials.

Hi,
I've been rendering with the addon, but none of them look right. They all have black splotches on them. Not quite sure what it is... nor do I know how to put a picture on here to show you.
If anyone knows what I'm talking about, any advice would be appreciated!

You can use imgur.com Drop your image on the homepage and copy/paste bbcode here.
Otherwise, it will be complicated to help you with so little information.

Thanks!
Here's my most recent render: https://imgur.com/a/5EoEh
It kind of has those faded black dots, if you know what I'm talking about.

Which area shall I focus on on your image? It is maybe due to the denoiser and not enough samples. It doesn't look like you scaled down the scene which is good. Interior scenes are more complicated to set up as it is harder for rays to find light sources. This is especially true in your case as light is only flowing from outside via the windows. Have a look at portals.

Yes I would suspect the denoiser, and the lack of light inside the building! Portal may be a good solution to help gathering light rays inside... you can also consider adding some light sources to "fake" the incoming light?

Thanks guys!
Ok,
I put an area lamp with the portal box checked outside every window pointing inside, as well as one pointing to 'Ace' from the skylight and desk lamp.
Here it is: https://imgur.com/a/wzwmD
It doesn't look very different... any advice?

It's hard to judge without seeing the blend file... 😦 check this https://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/using-portals-accelerate-render-times

I had the same issue. It's definitely the denoiser.
Try to desactivate it and render the scene to be sure.
Unfortunately, your scene is very dark and you will need to cheat (maybe with portals) to render it without an enormous amount of sample.

@SaitoGray Thanks!
I'm rendering it without the denoiser right now. But I'm not sure what number of samples to set it to? I don't know if I'm wording that right.

Ok,
Here is the .blend file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ht5v16xwibj8ibb/ace.blend?dl😮
If somebody could take a look it and maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You need to pack all of your resources in the blend file if you want us to take a look (file=>External data=> Pack all file). The HDR and some textures are missing here.

But, for what i can see, 128 sample is not nearly enough to make a render that dark. Go for at least 700/1000, even with the denoiser on.

Here you can see the difference, with a little test I've made with another hdr file :

750 Sample Denoiser on, 25% of 1080p
https://imgur.com/a/Bik4F

128 sample Denoiser on, 25% of 1080p
https://imgur.com/a/ANyyY

Even at 750 sample, it's really not perfect, but it's way better than with 128 sample.

Try to have fun, a maybe add a little bit a light, maybe some colors... That will definitely help your render.

Have fun !
