@adambrickover
Could you describe what didn't work for you when using the template?
Do you have problems installing the addon, or importing models, or rendering with Blender?

@NGCHunter2
I've already purchase it, and i open it, and it was in a file, can you tell me where to open the renderings?

@adambrickover
It's a bit more complicated than one might think, so lemme prepare a small introduction and then I'll come back telling you, okay? 😃

Hello! I saw that it is possible to render the model with my decals, but I can not find how to do it. Can you help me?

@Banderas2017
To whom are you talking? And what exactly do you mean? Rendering MB parts with official decals that are featured in the official parts tab or rendering with your own, custom decals?

I talk with everyone. I mean their own special stickers.

@Banderas2017
I may be mistaken (because I never really used the MB render farm), but there isn't a feature for adding custom stickers/decals/decorations; neither for the MB parts section. If you're rendering with Blender+MB Blender Lite/Advanced Add-on, then you can swap the textures for each decal, as I did it in my latest rendering [no advertisement].
But for the MB render farm: No way I would know of.

I made a major update to this add-on. It is now compatible with Blender 2.80
I fully redesigned it as it is based on a new custom format I created. Make sure you export from the workshop using the Mecabricks format .zmbx
Enjoy!

Looking forward to playing with this new update!!

A couple of questions about using this on a Mac. When I export a model to zmbx, I get a file untitled.zmbx in the recycle bin and scene.mbx appearing in my download folder. Which file is the correct one to use, should I try to stop my Mac automatically unzipping the file?

Also, whenever I try to export the scene a second time, I get a new browser tab trying to open a link like: " blob:https://www.mecabricks.com/ ..... " with a random string of letters and numbers, and an error message that "Failed to open page. The Error is "the operation couldn't be completed. WebKitBlobResource Error1"

Hello,
I develop on a Mac too but I don't have the unzipping function activated.
Yes, you shall prevent from automatically unzipping. File accepted by the add-on is the .zmbx file.
For the second issue. I am not too sure. Which browser do you use? I don't have this issue with Chrome.

Updated add-on to version 3.0.1
It has been updated to work with the latest build of Blender 2.80

I installed the addon, but when I import a .zmbx file I get an error, and the model doesn't import? Pretty sure I'm doing everything right... 😕

Make sure that you download the very latest version of Blender 2.80
Then re-download the Mecabricks add-on and re-install it.

Blender 2.80 is still in beta as I warned people earlier. Therefore it is hard to make sure that it works with all Blender 2.80 versions. For example the last build includes modifications breaking the backward compatibility. That is why I had to update the code today.

Okay, thanks! I'll reinstall 2.8 (I installed the day after its first release)
By the way, can you scale models with the new format?

Nope, this is due to the material design.

Speaking of scaling and materials, I'm trying to render a different subject at full size. I've moved the camera far away, and my setup in 3D view looks like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamesn/Misc/screen_shot_2019-02-02_at_2.24.14_pm.png My camera seems to be too far away, though because when I get very close to the model, it appears in my render, but when I move away to see the whole model, parts and then the whole thing clip out of view, like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamesn/Misc/screen_shot_2019-02-02_at_2.40.33_pm.png

Is there any kind of remedy, so that I can render images of my entire MOC without having to scale it down?

I tried a render with an extremely scaled-down model. It seemed to work just fine.

It does work, more or less, but I had issues with studs glowing, particularly lt. bley ones.

Change the camera clipping end to 1000 or 10000 and do the same thing to your view port.

Brilliant, thanks for the tip!
