Hello,
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new topic to post the renderings of models built in mecabricks.
So here is my version of the Ecto-1 LEGO set:

This was the first time I used the Cycles renderer from Blender and the node editor. I really enjoyed doing it and I'm looking forward to improve my skills.
Here's a test of motion blur on an entire model moving (not rotating).
Nice attempt! It really looks like it's going very fast 😄
Now here's the non motion blurred version, in higher resolution.
The 19 lights I put in might have been a bit much.
Surprise clankers!
Wow UmbraManis! 😄

I am actually doing again some LDRAW research where I started with in 2014 before I got in touch with MECABRICKS. There's a lot of incredible stuff on MOCpages. It's amazing what people do with LEGO. There's a German LEGO master called Stehpan Schumann. Most of his creations are also available as LDD-files. You can export LDD-files to LDR-files but you will run mostly into issues with missing parts even if you use the latest 2015 library. But LDRAW is still nice because of the higher resolution. The process to import to BLENDER and export for MODO is time consuming and you end up in big scene files due to the lack of instance support. MECABRICKS is of course the better choice. LDRAW is not supporting textures. All decorations are modeled. Insane. And LDRAW needs its own material setup. But it's still a great option because of the access to a huge database of official sets up to LEGO technics.
I told Scrubs a while ago that importing LDD or LDR would be a great option for MECABRICKS. Yes, he has a lot of things on his task list. I wished I could help him but I am not a programmer.
Here's the Colonial Viper of Stephan Schumann:

I decided to use a HDR lighting style what gives a commercial shot look to the model. But I am also doing a space lighting version now. It's not so good for the look of the plastic but more realistic in space.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

River is cool....have some other physic LEGO pictures in mind, too 😉 Don't know if I find time to make 'em, though.
Thank you, gerkenz.
I'm curious: what do you have in mind? 😉
Congratulations guys! I'm very happy to see that a lot of users are enjoying rendering Mecabricks models and you are experiencing a lot of beautiful ideas! ✌️
I think during this year, Mecabricks has grown a lot! 🎉 🎉 🎉
🎆 🎇 🎆 2️⃣ 0️⃣ 1️⃣ 5️⃣ 🎆 🎇 🎆
This is my last render of 2015, hope you like it!

Looking great, zanna!
Happy 2016!
So awesome! 2015 has been a very good year for Mecabricks thanks to all of you guys. I am always amazed by all the ideas that you get.
I think I'll be one of the last one to enter in the new year. Still 6 hours to go before 2016!
