If I had the rights to LoTR, I promise you, I wouldn't sell it to anyone for any price unless I felt certain they'ed honor the books. This is just... too far... cough cough... even just considering it, show's how terrible of a job they're going to do.

@Hammy, The trailer looks okay but it feels like they are just riding on the success of LotR. Like the show doesn't look or feel like it's part of LotR, more like someone said "hey let's make a fantasy/adventure show and slap the LotR branding on it so it gets attention!"

Wiz, Though there are countless reasons to be worried, actors & actresses say stuff like this all the time, I don't think that idea is being considered (For now at least) I mean Mark Hamill wanted Bobe Fett to be Lukes mom... O_o

@the folks who voted on my story thing, pretty much the unanimous vote was D so i've already started working on some ideas and writing out some "proof of concept" stories things. i'll try to keep yall posted on the progress 😃

Ehh, I have very little hope for this LOTR series. What on Middle-Earth is going on in that trailer? Who are these people? I may be wrong but it sure doesn't look like they're sticking to any established Middle-Earth legends.
I get the feeling they're doing what Disney tried to do with SW, make up their own stories and ignore all the brilliant material already at hand. I better stop before I get mad.

@Greeny, Elves are too arrogant and aloof. They tend to think that since they're immortal and can go to the Grey Havens whenever things get tough that they should have no part in the affairs of Middle Earth. It annoys me. They're part of that world, too. I will say it's worse in the movies.
As for Dwarves, they're so stubborn, so arrogant, so pig-headed, so greedy for gold, it drives me crazy.

Am I missing something? Is Robyn Malcom somehow heavily involved or involved at all in the Amazon show? I mean I agree with you all, but how does anything she says have any relevance to this conversation?

I will say... some of the dwarves, even if they have bad manners, are really nice... sniff... like Balin, and Bofur... particularly Balin.
