@jim_the_jim_boi : Yes. You need to select the part you want to edit, then adjust the roughness values in the shader editor.

@SaitoGray But this would affect all other parts using the color. In this case you need to give those parts its own material.

Just duplicate the material and change the roughness input.

Hello!

  1. Sorry for my bad english. Google translator helps me.
  2. Question about blender 2.8 and render Eevee. Rendering minifigures with decoration causes the program to hang. Without decoration everything is fine. File formats: Mecabricks (.zmb😆

@Dr.Gektor If you look at the material preview in the second screenshot, you'll notice it's a bright pink color. Now, that should not be there. It is Blender showing you that there is an error, which is, in this case, missing decoration files. Try downloading a .obj version of the file, and tell Blender to look for the missing files in the extracted folder. This should fix your issue.

@Samino Thanks for the advice. Every attempt to open a part will cause the program to hang. Is there any other way to replace the file decoration?

Hi Dr.Gektor,

Do not forget that Blender 2.8 is still in development. It could simply be a bug. Have you tried to download the most recent build of Blender ? It could fix your problem.

@Helo Thank you for your advice. Loaded the latest version of the program. Problems remained.
The reason for using version 2.8 is EeVee. Fast render on my old computer. Pickup rendering ~ 1,5 min.

Well, did you try replacing the textures by using another download of your model?

Hmm...

Is Blender hanging only when you enable Eevee ? Have you tried to render with Cycles ?

I am on Ubuntu. And when I use Mecabricks Advanced and Eevee, Blender is slowing down. It is still responding but slow. And when I enable Workbench or Cycles, everything is fine. My computer runs with a GTX 970. It could explain why Blender is almost crashing with your computer.
So, maybe the problem comes from Eevee. A kind of bug or just need optimization. Eevee is still a young render engine. It could also be due to the very complex and 'heavy' materials generated by the add-on that do not really suit for a real time render engine.

Let's wait for a response from Scrubs. He will probably have the answer.

i know scrubs, but it would be easier if it changed on import

i like cycles better that EeVee it is more realistic to me, i don't understand why u like it

oh eevee is real time, but i still prefer cycles

To make clear: Cycles and EEVEE are complete two different technologies. Cycles is a modern Path (Ray) Tracer and EEVEE is a very powerful realtime rendering engine using techniques to simulate reflections, refraction etc. But the future will be realtime for sure when computers get faster and faster.

Here's a nice example in what direction this will go: https://youtu.be/uGw1gQe4PDw

The tiger would look better with Cycles finally. But that's not the point. For low/mid-budget animation series EEVEE might be very interesting concerning a fair balance between good quality and fast render times to keep the costs down.

Thank you for your attention to my question. Indeed in Cycles there are no problems with decoration. The problem is only in EeVee. Cycles is a great program, but for me it is very slow. Rendering a similar model in Cycles will take ~ 10 min. Render quality is not significantly different.
For example. The video in 360 frames will require 3600 minutes in the Cycle and 360 in the EeVee.
A powerful computer will solve many problems with 3D, but I'm not sure yet that 3D will become a part of my life.

i have rendered an animation recently

i will post a gif

i animated my profile pic by grouping the minifig parts to the body
