The add-on is designed for Cycles so no, it won't work. Materials would have to be designed for ProRender.

this is an example of my solution

but i still prefer cycles

Eevee test with modified materials on the advice of jim_the_jim_boi.
Significant difference in rending time between Eevee and Cycles on my slow computer.
Strange shadow artifacts are present when importing from Mecabricks. In the beginning, the minifigure is loaded, then the details.
In another embodiment, there are no artifacts. At the beginning, the details are loaded, then the minifigure.

I made a quick and dirty EEVEE test last year. I have just loaded my scene into the latest 2.80 Beta. Looks improved again and very promising. I would say this is a wonderful alternative to Cycles concerning producing a series of LEGO episodes. Looks better than the actual LEGO series I know from Netflix.

Hi, I was wondering if there was an easy way to get the camera in the blender template to give the exact same view shown in the workshop's 3D rendering section?

I set up a scene involving several small spaceships in the workshop, but I want to add some custom decals to the final render, and if the camera isn't in exactly the right spot then the composition gets completely messed up.

Thanks!

Currently not. I may add some options later to import the mecabricks camera into Blender.

Will support for the DAE Collada option for the importer be supported for when the stable version of 2.8?

I've been setting up my models for a large animation (rigging, and all that) with 2.79 and want to be able to switch to 2.8 when the stable release comes out. But if the Mecabricks importer moves completely to the ZMBX format I won't be able to do this. I don't want to have to stay at 2.79 or have to start all over with ZMBX.

Thanks

That is not related. You can just open the blender file you created with 2.79 in 2.80

Hello, I just got this advanced version after I tried the Lite version of this. It works very well and I would like to thank you 😃 But in your screenshot of Blender 2.8 there is a little "Mecabricks" global settings popup. How do I get this to show?

Thanks a lot. If you press N on your keyboard, it will open the generic View panels - Transform, View, etc. On the top right, there is another tab called Tools. Click on it and you will get the Mecabricks options for your scene.

Ok, thank you a lot. Really appreciate the work you have put into this.

Hi there! Just bought the advanced version and I am using the mecabricks workshop to import a minifig but the import gets messed up and one leg is massive compared the rest of the minifig, in the description of the software it says not to change the scale but instead to move the camera but how can that be possible when different builds import at a different scales sometimes? Am I importing builds wrongly?
Thanks in advance.

Which version do you use? The latest one for Blender 2.80? Everything is imported at scale 1 normally.

I'm using 2.79 should I swap to 2.8?

also how do I get t-shirt prints into blender?

I'm getting this really weird issue where there's these vertical stripes appearing on my minifigure? It's only when it's at certain angles too.

(I actually don't know how to embed images into this forum? The normal img tags don't work for some reason)

hey jaydotjay, sorry I can't help with your issue about vertical stripes but I was wondering how you added torso and pants prints on your minifig? Was it through texturing in blender like unwrapping the minifig mesh?

I have had success embedding images using this format

Remove the quotation marks, had to put those in to stop my image being uploaded.

Images are uploaded to my flickr account then the above link is there under share. Cut and paste I think I have to delete a bit of the link before the first [img] if I remember correctly.

I too have had intermittent black vertical strips on my minifigures specifically the heads every now and then using Blender 2.7X and cycles which I have never got to the bottom of. Re-rendering the same frame consistently gives the same stripe. It seems to be only on parts with image textures. it will happen only now and then and only for a few frames here and there not the whole sequence.

Yours looks a lot worse, but I am guessing the same reason as it looks like its on the image texture parts as well. i.e the hair and the hands are not effected as they are solid colours.
