About this thread
You will find in this section everything needed to easily make photorealistic renderings of Mecabricks models with Blender.
Software and files needed
• Blender
• Blender Add-on by Mecabricks
• Environment images [e.g. zbyg Packs]
I should test it again 😛
And it happens right after I do a render... 😜
Hi @scrubs
I am not able to get the transparent parts transparent, also the decoration does not seems to get into the rendered image, I do not understand what I am doing wrong! I am using your latest template 1.8.1, here is how the result looks like:

I tried to google, but my google-fu and my knowledge in Blender (nada) does not compute 😉
It looks like you just forgot to click the "run script" button. This is the main purpose of my script 😉 It automatically replaces basic materials by the proper ones I set up and smoothes the mesh. Make sure you added all the parts ypu imported inside the "Model" object. Only parts inside this object will be converted.
Haha, embarrassingly simple!
Thanks!
Watching your vid now, and cannot find my exported model, where would I find it in Blender??
When you export your model from Mecabricks, you get a zip files on your hardrive. Unzip it. Inside this folder, you will get a .dae file and a decorations folder. This is the .dae file that you select in Blender during the collada import step.
Hmm, can't find the zip file, but will go look for it.
It can take a few seconds to be generated and it goes into your "downloads" folder.
Yeah, gave it a few minutes and nothing happened.
How big is your model? Did you try with another browser?
it is just a 1x1 brick for a test run with Blender.
AzogtheDefiler told me that only Google Chrome and FireFox support the website, and last night was using Internet explorer. So downloaded chrome and should not need anymore help. Appreciate the help you did provide.
Sounds good. Chrome is fully supported (can crash during export of big models in recent versions), Firefox too (workshop is slower than with chrome but no problem to export big models) as well as Safari (doesn't support the export function). I don't have access to IE so I don't know.
Ok, cool. My biggest models are only a little over 1,000 pieces, will it support that?
It should, I was able to export a 3,000+ model fine. 😉
Ok, great!!
1000 pieces is easy. I think renderbricks exported a model with 70k+ bricks (or maybe just half, don't remember).
WOW!! 70k brick project!!
LDD file has been imported in Mecabricks and the geometry exported to make this render:

WOW! 😮
