@grenwilf no because it relied on the collada format which has been updated as well. Even if you had the add on, it would no work.

It seems I cannot download a older version, pls help.

@yy older version would not work anyway.

I have downloaded the add-on and followed the instructions for it, but when I comes to importing models it only says something about a traceback error. Have I done something wrong?
I am on blender version 2.82 is that ok? Thanks!

You have possibly done what some others have and installed the wrong .zip file. Make sure you unpack the Blender Lite.zip and then install the mecabricks.zip file inside of it. You should then have an option to import Mecabricks (.zmb😆 files.

Ok, I managed to sort it out, it's ok now. Thanks for the support!

@Scrubs I've seen your renders, and they look amazing! Are they in Blender? Also, I tried rendering a small truck (Urban Truck) in Blender but it turned out very strange, as it was fuzzy and had lots of white dots. The white dots disappeared when I enabled denoising, but it retained its fuzzy nature. Is there a way I can show you the picture?

@StepsiPepsi put the image online somewhere (flickr, imgur, etc.) then here type the following: puttheimageURLhere.png
When you click send, your picture will be visible here.

It didn't work, just use the link https://imgur.com/a/i2SGIDV

Whoops! I forgot, you need to add .png to the end of the url for it to work 😉

Better?

Uhhh, it just has a question mark... you can't open it...

It's just this but without the spaces:

Yeah, that's it! You see what I mean? How can I fix it?

Quick troubleshooting:

  1. Did you scale the model? That messes up the materials.
  2. Did you export as a .zmbx and import into blender as a .zmbx with the Mecabricks Lite Add-on?

I did the export with Lite, but let me try with the scale!

@StepsiPepsi
Yeah, looks scaled to me. If you really need to scale your model, you have to change the scale value inside each material, otherwise important components like SSS won't work properly.

Otherwise you can try to up the sample count (e.g. 900 with slight denoising is usually quite fine), and if you happen to get a lot of white noise, you can also try to clamp direct/indirect light (e.g. 8 for both). Keep in mind that a very low sample count combined with high denoising will result in a very bad image quality, too.

I made it smaller and it did the same thing...

@NGCHunter2 Most of my renders now are at 80-100 samples with the new 2.8 denoiser 😛 Seems to work well enough if you want quicker renders!
