About this thread
You will find in this section everything needed to easily make photorealistic renderings of Mecabricks models with Blender.
Software and files needed
• Blender
• Blender Add-on by Mecabricks
• Environment images [e.g. zbyg Packs]
When I click "Run Script" it says "Python script fail, look in the console for now...". What am I doing wrong?
Check this thread, it may answer your question:

Thank you
The script has been converted to a Blender Add-on. Therefore you can now import your models in any scenes. It is also possible to import multiple models. I provide a PDF file to install the add-on properly as well as a Blender template file that includes render settings.
The decoration shader has been redesigned loosely based on the advanced script to automatically assign correct base material and handle decorated areas.
make sure you empty your browser cache and re-download the file. Old revisions do not work anymore.

AWESOME! This is super cool! 👍 😮 😄 😃
Great work scrubs! I'll be sure to try it in the coming days!
New version 2.0.1
I added a second type of shaders based on Principled BSDF as well as a template with settings for the denoiser.
These options are only available if you use the last daily build of Blender.
New version 2.0.2 that fixes a bug that could prevent models from being imported.
Hard to tell. Looks like there is something wrong with a brick material name. Does it work with other models?
Hi Scrubs, yes it occured with other models (also the simple model with about 200 parts).
Can you try with just one part (1X1 brick) to see if it works for you?
Please do not use the Blender file from an old version of the script as a starting file. It likely to make the add-on not work properly. Use the templates provided with the add-on instead - or any others.
Updated Add-on to revision 2.0.3
Excuse me this blender add on can be used for make animations
You can use the Mecabricks template as a basis for doing animations in Blender. The template provides a way to import your Mecabricks (still) scenes into Blender including Cyles-optimized shaders. Animations can then be done using Blender's built-in features.
ok thanks
Excuse me, but is it possible to use old 1.8.9 template to render nowadays? Every of recently exported collada files get error in Blender with decals, unlike the old ones.
As far as I've understood it, current MB exports require the most recent template version to make things work properly.
@SiMal, wlange is right, you need to install the latest add-on. The old script doesn't work anymore - There are heaps of improvements for decorated parts that were only in the advanced script that have been added to the free version.
