Hello,
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new topic to post the renderings of models built in mecabricks.
So here is my version of the Ecto-1 LEGO set:

This was the first time I used the Cycles renderer from Blender and the node editor. I really enjoyed doing it and I'm looking forward to improve my skills.
These looks really nice. What's the material settings you are using for the bricks?
Also the bevel shader might work here really nicely:

Just did a quick test, worked quite well. Edge Split + Smooth shading. However since the exported bricks haven't got amazing topology this is the best smoothing you can get out the box.
Does help the edges pop though. You can tell the difference with the stud on the right.
Hello,
I actually use the bevel shader from Piotr 😃
I made a Blender template and script to automatically replace materials from models exported from mecabricks by the one from my library. I will release it in the next couple of weeks when I will finish to make the tutorial and to redesign the model display page.
You can see some of my latest renderings on flickr

Ah sweet, I was thinking an automated process could work here. 😃
Hi,
these are some renders (Scrubs helped me so much! ❤️) I've done in Blender some days ago, hope you like them!

I really like the rendering of the minifig. You made a great job with the scene.
Like I told you, I think that you ran the script a bit early before scaling the model - Round edges and material look a bit off 😉
Thanks Scrubs 😃
I actually did a lot of work on Photoshop because I do not yet know good Blender, but I am following some tutorials.
Unfortunately edges are not perfect because I made the mistake of running the script before to set the scene, next time I'll be careful 😛

Well... in the Middle Ages there was not photography, but I could not resist doing this old style photo... 📷 💕

Now the invisible plane where shadows are projected is not visible in reflections of bricks!
Freeco Speeder (Lego 8085) by SaitoGray
How did you do to hide the plane and only keep reflections?
I made a render without the plane 😛
But I found a better method using nodes, I'll try and I'll send you the file.

virtualrepublic you are unbeatable!

I want to dedicate this render to Scrubs that through his immense work allows us to use Mecabricks!

Three fresh renders for [MOC] Citroën DS 20 by zanna 😃
Scrubs unlocked the LEGO render awesomeness. 😄
Yes, really 💥 💘 💞
I'm continuing to follow other tutorials to learn new features and set Blender scene.
Here I learned:
• how to control depth of field (tutorial)
• how to set lights (points, spots, areas, etc...)
I tried to work on the ground, I wanted to add a texture and apply a little displacement, but I did not succeed yet 😛
