Hello,
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new topic to post the renderings of models built in mecabricks.
So here is my version of the Ecto-1 LEGO set:

This was the first time I used the Cycles renderer from Blender and the node editor. I really enjoyed doing it and I'm looking forward to improve my skills.
Many thanks, zanna!
The skyscraper model was actually a really quick one. It took me 10 minutes for the MB scene and another 10 minutes for the post processing in Photoshop with some Nik plug-ins. It's not perfect, though. I just noticed that the environment map is actually is too strong, so that the highlights on the minifigs are pretty obvious. I should reduce the strength of the environment map or create an EXR file based on the background to tie everything together in a more convincing way (done).

Playing around with "impossible" postures, image maps and lighting. Turning out well so far.
It's always a pleasure to look at your renderings. Good job!
Thank you, Scrubs. 😊
The only thing is, that I've got more ideas than time... ⌛
And next: Sky with Stars, Moon and Clouds made with LEGO bricks, please. 😃
Many small details on Lego backdrops need huge stage settings. I guess that would require a team... 😓
Only yesterday I read the topic under http://community.thefoundry.co.uk/discussion/topic.aspx?f=8&t=118467 - interesting. And I found that you're doing beautiful renderings. My favourite one is https://www.artstation.com/artwork/b5BZG
BTW, it seems that you're living right around the corner from me...

Completely customized (all decorations, Paul's wig, George's guitar), thus not available in MB.

You can find the HD version here!
Love it all. Mecabricks is going to be more and mor awesome.
@wlange Very nice and clean renders. Where you from and what is your profession? The Snowspeeder was my very first research result with LDRAW data.
@zanna Keep up the great style. I love all your creative renderings.
Thank you, virtualrepublic. Personally, I feel that I've barely scratched the surface as I still need to learn to utilize all possibilities of Blender. But since its usability is horrible and also, it's not really stable, I'm thinking about developing a template for C4D, my favourite 3D application.
I've been working as an engineer in the IT industry for about 20 years and I'm living next to your hometown.
😮 Our planet is too little! You are quite neighbors 😛
I agree with you wlange, I prefer C4D too. Maybe I'll start studying MODO or Softimage, as virtualrepublic suggested me.
Danke virtualrepublic! 😉
Where's that LIKE button? 😛
Hehe 😃 The piece doesn't bend that much in real life and I noticed that the leaf in the bottom right corner is kinda detached from the main tube.
Moving on...
