this really helped me thank you
I know this does not fit the topic of this discussion, but I would appreciate if someone could help me with my problem. I am designing a Lego ship that i want to build and was wondering how I could order it and figure out the price.
How might I do this?
You could download the xml file and upload it onto Bricklink, as a wanted list.
I need help plz
I Dont know what a Xml file is, or how to get the Xml file to the briclink or the wanted list
Hey how do you view all the bricks you've used in a model?
@legoewok
That has been answered literally six comments above... may I build upon the post of @Scrubs:
For public models:
Model page → Inventory (below 3D player)
That's the inventory of your model. If you want to export it to Bricklink, head over to → Bricklink XML
You will get 2 files. One can be updated directly on Bricklink. The other one is the list of part that Mecabricks doesn't know how to convert (e.g. bricklink information has not been filled in yet in the database).
For your own private models, use the url:
http://www.mecabricks.com/inventory/bricklink/{MODEL_ID}.zip
where MODEL_ID is the 11 chars alphacode of your model.
how do you rotate?
@fravelettilo14097
Hit [M] to switch between translation/rotation gizmos; you can use [←]/[→], [↑]/[↓], [HOME]/[END] for quick 45° rotating too. You can switch between global or local rotation if you need to with the Transform Orientation dropdown menu (or [V]) and change the sensitivity of the gizmo between Small/Medium/Large (0.5°/22.5°/45°) with the Transform Grids dropdown menu (or [Q]).
Keep in mind that the selected part will always rotate around the selected pivot point; you can temporarily select manual pivot points by hitting [P] + selecting another pivot point.
For precise manual entries, hit [R] and [X]/[Y]/[Z] + number value, or use the right transform toolbar.
I recommend going through the "help" header inside the workshop as well as getting used to the shortcuts for a faster and more enjoyable building experience: https://mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/10
Edit: if you happen to want to know how to rotate the camera view, [LM😎 + drag. Just in case.
i cant move my flexable peices in a felxable why
@Hoodedspider
Did you press [F], then select a control point or handle? That's how you rotate or translate flexible parts. And you can only do this on parts that are flexible, which are marked with a little curve-and-handle symbol (see "Tubes" section for reference).
If you're inside of the flexible edit mode, you can't move the whole flexible part unless you select all control points (simply hit [A]) and move them; keep in mind that undo ([Ctrl]+[Z]) doesn't seem to work in flexible edit mode.
Do you know how to copy and paste?
Copy and paste doesn't make sense in 3D. Instead you can duplicate the selection using the clone tool in the left toolbar or by pressing D.
Is there a way to mirror my selection on the axis of my choice? I don't want to rotate it, I want to have the parts on the opposite side instead.
I looked through and didn't see anything here. There has to be a shortcut to switch between part categories/libraries. The drop down is so slow and unintuitive that something like page up page down should be able to switch through them for really quick part finding.
Hey I was wondering how to rotate smoothly with the rotation tool, as when I use the rotation tool it always rotates exactly 22.5 degrees, but I would like to know how to have it rotate one degree at a time, A.K.A. the way the white inner circle rotates, but straight.
I hope you understand what I mean, and thanks! 😃
@BrickBot2.0 Change the grid (small, medium and large) or disable it by unchecking the checkbox.
Okay, thanks for the quick reply! 😃
Hello, is there a way to zoom to selection like with "." on Blender please ?
Thanks in advance.
Bye
Vincent
