These are the "bigger" ideas. the bottom post has some "smaller" ideas... 😉

Report Button:

This might have been asked already, but I think it wouldn't be the worst idea to have a report button to report inappropriate or mean comments. To prevent every user from reporting every single comment on Mecabricks, I was thinking of making it so that you would need at least 2 or more votes before it would be sent for a review to an admin. (Maybe the same with forums because of all the recent advertising links... Are they bots?)

Advantages:

• Less inappropriate and mean comments (hopefully), making Mecabricks more child-friendly

Disadvantages:

• People reporting comments just for fun with alt accounts (Yes, I believe some people would do this)

User Page:

Actually just a random idea I got from the already existing page: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/library/user So why not take advantage of it?
Also: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/library/user/scrubs This is also a hidden link (maybe even a bug) that is quite useful! You can already sort your models, so including it in the official site might not be such a bad idea! 😄

Advantages:

• (First link) If adding keywords (that the users can create), this might be useful to search users!
• (Second link) Not only looking at the newest models, but also at the most liked / viewed / amount of bricks -> When I look at a user, I only look at their most recent models, not even knowing what they have actually achieved...

Disadvantages:

• More comparison / competition to who has more views / likes (I think)

More specific search results:

Maybe a filter between unanimated/animated? Just a random idea, but nothing too serious. Just remember that Mecabricks is a growing website. Searching specific models gets harder over time. Also, what about adding oldest, most comments, etc... to the sorting options?
I think it'd already help if you could combine things like Tags + Search! 😉

Advantages:

• More specific search results

Disadvantages:

• Maybe not the most useful function right now...

Notification Settings

Almost forgot about this one! 😅 Too many notifications (which you can't turn off) can be annoying for some people (not for me... I get surprisingly few notifications... probably because I'm not as active on the forums XD) -> I'd still set the default to all, just in case!
Also: Maybe a notification if you get selected for the Selection Page? (And make the notifications show up on the tab using <title>([Numb. of notifications]) Mecabricks | ...</title>?)

Advantages:

• Not as many notifications

Disadvantages:

• Accidental ignoring (of comments, forums, messages)

Continued Text:

Ever seen a username where part of it is hovering above the models? Or a model title that is way too long and cut off? I was thinking of a collapsible [...] next to it if the names are too long, which would expand if pressed to make a new line, displaying the full name! 😄
(Of course, you would still need to put a limit on title / username length, otherwise one could have a 20 line title / username...)

Advantages:

• Readable titles & nicer looking profile pages (if you have such long usernames)

Disadvantages:

• A bit unnecessary and solvable in other ways (limiting name length, making the text smaller the longer it is, etc...)

Follow Option:

Checking every day if any of your favorite builders have made a new model can take a bit of time. If one's parents / legal guardians limits their Childs time on Mecabricks, this can be very frustrating... So why not make a follow option? 😂 Again, this is just a random idea, but it would be fun useful to have such a feature! I have up to 40+ people that I know and I easily loose sight on who is who and if they have posted anything recently. In addition, I easily forget users...
(With the option of being able to customize the notification settings, since some users post a lot per day)

Advantages:

• Time saving
• Easier to remember users (who you want to follow, if you get what I mean)

Disadvantages:

• More comparison to who has more followers (except if you don't display that number XD)
• Not very easy to code

MOC Builder non-clipping Function:

A mode in workshop, which you can switch on and off, where bricks that are clipping are marked red or something... Nothing very serious, so don't think too much about this! 😂 But if you are ever bored or something...

It is very hard to find tiny pieces that are clipping anywhere. For example, my Steampunk Bike (which I thought for a very long time was 100% buildable) had clipping (luckily quite obvious).
For example, imagine I wanted to test if it worked and planned to buy all the pieces for it... It wouldn't have been very fun if I find out (midway building) that it doesn't work... (this example is not very realistic, but still... 😂)

Advantages:

• More precise building
• MOCs that can actually be built!

Disadvantages:

• I am not an expert on any coding language, but I believe this is not the easiest idea to apply to the workshop...

Original Creator Link in Description:

Wouldn't it be nice to have a link at the bottom of the description (or anywhere else) of the original creator... Not sure if this is possible, but I wanted to throw it out there, just in case! 😉

Advantages:

• Credit will always be given and the original creator always found

Disadvantages:

• No idea how complicated this idea is...

Custom Part Label:

There are some parts (very few) which I sometimes can't find, forcing me to search the part up on google and type in the part number or the official name. Wouldn't it make it easier if you could label a part and when trying to find it later, search it by that specific name? 😄 This is probably wishful thinking...

Again, this is just a random idea...

Advantages:

• Quicker search for bricks

Disadvantage:

• Might be complicated to code...
• More unwanted search results

Library Account Search Bar:

If you aren't the most organized person like me then this would be certainly profitable to have such a search bar. I'm almost at 200 models (and a ton more kept private). Of course, you could just learn to keep your stuff organized with 300 folders...

Advantages:

• Finding models quicker

Disadvantages:

• A bit unnecessary?

Open Recent:

Again, just a random idea 😂 ...I just thought it would be nice to be able to immediately open your last closed project without having to search through 200+ models! ^_^ (And maybe it's possible to put this into the local storage, because it are just the recent projects...)

Advantages:

• Getting to build faster in workshop

Disadvantages:

• A bit unnecessary? (a common theme for this post 😂)

Bot tests:

Annoying posts and even comments are slowly taking over Mecabricks. Damage isn't big yet, but in time they will spam each model... (Yeah, I'm exaggerating)
Anyways... They are getting annoying. Would it be possible to make some kind of test like the ones google or other websites make? E.g. pick all the images that have Lego in them?

Advantages:

• (Hopefully) get rid of bots

Disadvantages:

• Might get annoying having to do the test? IDK, I'd say it's worth it
• Coding

Mirror parts

Just a reminder (as it has been requested before) that this would still be a possibility to do if you're ever bored (Which you probably aren't...)

Advantages:

• Faster building

Disadvantages:

• Very much coding for all unsymmetrical pieces that have opposite pieces
