Just started using this tool and exported a test project as .obj so I could open it in Windows.
I noticed the colors of the materials are much darker on the finished object, compared to viewing it in the workshop (either in Design or 3D Rendering modes). I used White, Bright Yellow and Dark Azur as colors, and only White remained, well, white. Bright Yellow turned orange-ish, and Dark Azur looks very navy, almost as dark as Earth Blue.
What am I doing wrong?
It depends on lighting as well as colour encoding among other things. It is very unlikely that you'll get the same result in the windows default reader.
Hey, Scrubs, thanks for answering.
Shouldn't the render look the same regardless of the app used to open it? I'm a bit confused by that. Are the colors displayed in the workshop accurate? I just wanted to be able to showcase my creations elsewhere and have the colors be accurately represented.
No, it depends on the rendering engine, lighting, colour space and a lot more parameters. Also the Obj format and associated material files are very old and it doesn’t support many of the Mecabricks shading features. I export what I can with the few things that this format supports. For some parts, it is even not possible to get anything relevant.
