I've been using the free DAZ Studio for years (the program is free, you pay for the content). The program is usually used to more or less dress, pose and render human characters . Animation is also possible with it. You can use various light sources and HDRI's. And the program has an excellent connecting bridge to Blender.
I saved the first part of my Ninjago monastery as a wavefront object and imported it into DAZ Studio. The model is (unfortunately) loaded into DAZ Studio without the colors and textures. But the objects with the same color are grouped together. So it is easy to assign a corresponding color shader to each group. And there is actually also a free shader set with all relevant brick colors.
Maybe DAZ Studio is also an interesting alternative to Blender Lite / Advanced for you.
Here's another example with a Minifigure (with texture on the face)
