Hi,
I am new to MecaBricks and love what I've seen so far.
I'm not totally a noob at rendering in other applications. (I have successfully used Keyshot and Renderworks in a past life), but am struggling to get going here.
I have uploaded a 1st model I made in LDD and imported into MB curious to see how a render would turn out. First attempt failed with message alert that I needed to add a camera.
Added camera. (I think - I have a highlighted camera in the active camera tab in render settings.)
Second and all subsequent attempts return the message "Alert! Please check render settings."
I'm missing something. But what?
I hope someone can help!
Kind regards...
Welcome to Mecabricks!
So do you have any red items on the right hand sidebar? Make sure you scroll up and down as well as click on all the tabs. Do you have more than 1000 parts? (Part count is in the lower right.) Basic rendering is free, and if you make an adjustment and it doesn't turn red, then it's available. However, there are premium settings (generally they require more electricity to generate) that you would need to pay credits for. If you have something red, then you will need to turn it off/adjust it lower -or- you can buy render credits using the buy button or this link here:

This link also explains the limitations of free vs credited rendering. If none of this helps, consider posting a screenshot of your settings so that someone here can see what's going on.
Cheers!
@B1Trash, thanks for your excellent explanation and the link to how to pay for credits and what to expect.
I found the problem as you suggested: I had naively set "Scratches" and "Fingerprints" and had not noticed anything "red" before I moved on to other settings.
But I confess to having looked through "All" the tabs at least twice before I even noticed the parts tab in the camera section of the render dialog!
I've only just discovered MecaBricks and its community. What an amazing resource!
In time I'd like to be able to help out where I can, but mebbe I'll just settle in a bit first...
Happy to help! Yeah, the problem is that there is good documentation, but it's hidden behind the "Buy" button. Maybe Scrubs could change the Alert! message to something more wordy that will explain what you'd need... or a link to the FAQ. Oh well, once you learn the gotchas of Mecabricks, it's really fun to use. Enjoy building!
I have nothing red yet I still can’t render, do you have any idea why?
