I've managed to get by in most scenes through denoising and clamping and such. Now though- in need of a scene with many many bricks, the noise won't go away.
I've tried everything I know. Indirect is clamped to 1. Filter glossy on 1. Evenly lit scene with an HDRi. Denoising and all.
If anyone else has had similar or can help, it would be much appreciated.
It is probably a good idea to post some screenshots of your scene and results.
Render times drastically increased sure. Noise is too as well though. And I can't afford a good render farm so I need to focus on getting fast render times.
This scene takes about 3 minutes to render in 4K. The other takes roughly 10 at the same settings and looks much worse.
First of all, you scaled down your model hence the ugly materials on some of your images.
Secondly, 3minutes for a 4K render is not much, even if you have a powerful GPU/CPU. Unfortunately there are limits to optimisations.
I understand that 3 minutes is very fast for a 4k render, but I was getting times of 10-15 for the scene in question. Even with fixed materials and such, the noise is unparalleled with an old LEGO setup I used.
The top is Mecabricks setup, the bottom is my old setup.
Increasing samples seems to hardly help in big scenes. This really worries me for animations and productivity.
