Coarse language is a sin. The Bible says not to take the Lord's name in vain, but it also says "May your yes be yes and your no be no." So, there's no need to swear, at all. And swearing as an insult is . . . that's most definitely a sin. And "damn" is not a bad word inherently, the Bible uses the phrase "damned" a bit, but the way it's almost always used by our culture today is wrong, so . . . if you're asking if saying it is a sin, I'd say yes, it is.
