Enough said...
that forum is like a big chunk of the reason why the website is lagging, along with those kids "mY nEw SiGfIg" models every week
I disagree with this petition.
Same
Well, the sig-fig models are admittedly pointless to us, but definitely not to the users who made them. Stop trying to crush people's joy.
The site is lagging because the kids are using the forum as a discord instant messenger, so if they move to discord problem solved.
Why can't we all just agree? And besides, there's no way to prove that models lag the website unless people are viewing them. Of course, we don't know the specs of the website and every detail of how it works, but I think that your own computer that runs the things you're viewing. I know from experience that having a better computer helps you load things better. And if it's really the models that lag the site, then opening the big MOCs would cause more lag than the tiny minifigs.
There's no need to spite people who are just trying to have fun.

zachfbstudios: Sorry, I didn't refresh so I didn't see your message.
@zach, I mean, you're not wrong about moving to discord. That would be a lot better. But lots my friends don't have discord so this is the best way for us to communicate all together, ya know?
Commenting so I can receive notifs from this. I'd like to keep up with it.
zach: You proved their point in your message: They're kids. Some have conservative parents. They're not allowed to be on the big social media sites so they come here to make friends, especially in the Pandemic. It's much better to have forums that have hundreds of messages than models that have hundreds of messages. Besides, how are they lagging you? Their own devices are the ones loading the pages. MB has to communicate with them, yes, but it's really not that much data. If you really have a problem with it, how about you build your models in different, downloadable software like LDD, Ldraw, or Studio? Will it really make anything better if you get rid of the community section of the forums? They'll just use other catagories.
But you're right, using Discord would be a lot better, and I'm not denying that. But not all the kids can, want to, are allowed to, or even know that Discord exists. So, yeah, deleting the community forums won't help.
I get your point OP011, but just a heads up- the website loaded fast like a charm before you guys got together. I used to be part of the OG Mecabricks "social group" (yours came after), and we barely made an impact on the server. We had no forums and posted fun models when we wanted to (unlike spamming new sigfigs weekly). That OG group and I look back at those days, joking how innocent and naive we were, and pretty sure you guys will do the same.
Like, CMON. Each of you guys have an average of 2000 posts!
So brickegg81099999999?
BB: Well, how much was the decrease? Also, when exactly did we "get together"? Was it in march 2020? 'Cause if so, I think there might be another reason for the site being slower.
Yeah, that's true. But why is that bad? We talk a lot.
Yeah, and I wasn’t even on mecabricks in March 2021
OP: Didn't say that was bad, you guys are welcome to talk to each other, but that seems to be the main reason for the website's lag. Actually, since DM's are a thing here, maybe some of you can DM scrubs to create group DM's here? That'll surely solve it.
Actually not a bad idea, but I can’t do it because senpai doesn’t notice me (;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`)

BB: Okay, you're welcome to believe that, but I disagree. Still, asking for group DMs is a very good idea. Do you think we should start a petition for that?
@BB, That's not a bad idea, but I bet it'll be awhile before he'll have time to work on it. . .
Also, lagging is usually due to wi-fi or performance issues in your own device.
