Post anything Ninjago!
Rules:
I was literally about to post that. 😄 Looks really good and it was cool to see the "new" version of the old Ninjago! (I'll always love Willfilm's style)
Yeah, I loved Willfilm's style of animating!
Especially in Hands Of Time!
@OP, dw 😂 we over here are the same way! 😄
@TheGecko7: Yeah, I agree, I’ll always love the Wilfilm style. Also, the new short really does explain soooo much!!
Amazing short! Loved it. 😄
I thought it was awesome.
As for when to watch it... I'd say it gives away too much about Wu to put it between Seasons 7 and 8, so personally I think if it went in the episode after Wu regains his memories in Season 9 in the flashback style that Jay, Cole, and Zane had, it would fit very well.
WilFilm APS was a great animation company. Miss them. But WildBrain isn't too bad - the action is always very smooth. I think it's more of the stories we assosciate the styles with. After all, Season 11 was terrible, but I felt the best parts were the music and animation 😄

**Insert luke skywalker gif "thats not true, THATS IMPOSSABLE" **
Pyro: My main problem with the WilFilm style was the shiney-ness of every surface. I feel like the shader update that WildBrain has done is a huge improvement. I also like the slightly more cartoony editing the WildBrain does, although that's a more personal preference. Overall, they're both great. 😂 It's very refreshing to see the old style done with new rendering engines!
@Pyro, we still have some sets to look forward too, and then Lego might bring out some Legacy sets in October or something. (I doubt it, but they might)
@Op, I actually kinda preferred the fact that in WilFilm, the metal had reflections. But I do like the new textures on the arms and the alternate animation styles. But (and let's be honest here) the squash and flex in WildBrain isn't the best 😄
@Gecko, True (and I'd love to get another Legacy wave, even though I'll probably go bankrupt)... and we will get the Spinjitzu Brothers books,
but no new season until 2022.
Pyro: Yeah, both styles are great. Yeah, the flexing used by WildBrain is . . . meh. The reflective metal is nice, but metal isn't usually that reflective IRL.
Greenie: You do realize that Prince Kalmar of the Sea is PURELY a rip-off of High King Kalmar, of the Isle of Anniera?
@Op, and is totally human
What do you think is the canon status of the shorts?
@Pyro I don't think many of them are canon, really. Cause the "Golden legend" and "Day in the life of a Golden Ninja" seems like they don't fit to canon much. However the "Golden Hour" I think is definitely canon. I think it's probably just up for interpretation.
The Kai and Nya one is most likely not canon either.
Wow, lots of similarities between Wingfeather and Ninjago. Nya, Nia? Serpentine, Fangs? Wojira, Sea Dragons? AM I MISSING SOMETHING?!
king kalmaar 😉
@TheGecko7, True, but i do believe *sweat'n to the goldies *is cannon.
@Op,the Kai and Nya one could be cannon. it could take place in the search for wu era
Imo, the closer the animation is to one used in the show, the more likely it's canon 😄
Okay, so, which do y'all think is the better set...
Zane VS Nindroid
or
Jay VS Serpentine?
