The drag feature gets in the way. I'm trying to move a piece to a certain spot and keep having to zig zag in directions and I keep accidentally dragging it which forces me to either undo or continue to reposition more
Should have a click and drag feature that works smoothly like in LDD. (You can click and drag a piece without having to click on the dragging spot)
Program should have automatic snapping when moving objects Needs to be as easy as possable like in ldd
there should be a little round rectangle at the bottoom right of the viewport showing you which part it is that is highlighted (could be clear white text in a transparent black shadow).
You should be able to click which automatically copys the part id number from this box into your clipboard
pressing r when you have a brick selected should give you visual rotate options
arrow keys rotations should have a mode to be locked to 90 degree changes ( like in ldd)
arrow keys rotations should work based on camera view they are super confusing
"ctrl c" and "ctrl v" should be used for duplicating bricks. pressing "C" of that screenshot thing should not mess with this also
click and dragging should give you a selection box not a camera turn (shift click for camera turn would still be available)
there is a lot of space horizontally on the screen I think it would be good to have the part searcher on the side which youc an expand and despand to your liking like in ldd and categories displayed by a part in a default color for each categorary so stuff is easy to find.
When placing a new piece. It should not just place it. It should wait for you to click where to place it (with a visual brick aglined in preview) like in ldd. It's annying that pieces are placed inside each other and not where you want having to move it each time.
when searching you should not have to click enter (you could put a tick rate of 0.5 seconds for optimization or something like that)
when transforming by changing rotation values you should not have to click apply (tranformation is done in real time and you can reset each part to 0 by typing it manually or undo)
In brief I recommend making the placement and manipulation of bricks and rotation easy like in ldd and make finding them easy like in ldd
some bricks not importing or importing with bad rotations positions from ldd:
Some examples:
25895 (bad rotation)
76279 (cant see it in scene, might be heavily moved)
76257 (cant see it in scene, might be heavily moved)
57274 (cant see it bend is not there)
58856 (cant see it in scene, might be heavily moved)
85080 (one of them worked the other is not there)
43712 (bad rotation)
65426 (bad rotation)
65429 (bad rotation)
15534 (miss placed by what seams to be one block of space was connected to 85861)
Missing common parts that I found in first test:
611906
5000186
3856
