I have uploaded a lot of renders lately. Started off with others models, and quickly moved over to building myself and then render the results.
A few cars I have built and rendered are acting up. I have rendered the model from front-left and rear-left, and I upload both files as renders. But after about a day or so the rendering vith viewport rear-left is deleted from the model.
Why is this happening?
Really hope someone can enlighten me 😃
(FYI. I'm rendering with external program and not mecabricks own renderer)
I think you many find some answers in this thread: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/1681
Thanks @Sealund but I'm afraid that doesn't answer my question. All images are high quality renderings made by myself of the given moden. Only uploaded once and showcase the model from another angle than the main render.
Hope MecaBricks will chime in with a clarifying answer to this.
Perhaps if you link to it or embed it here we may be able to tell you the problem?
These two images were both accepted:

But with these next models only image#1 is remaining. number #2 is deleted.

"Mecabricks is not an image sharing platform. Each artwork posted shall be carefully crafted and well composed. The purpose of this section is to showcase your best work only. Always favour quality over quantity."
Your type of renders showing a simple model from different angles is not considered "carefully crafted and well composed". Compare to the renders Scrubs shows examples of in the thread. Your renders are of good quality but there is not much artistic about them. I guess you were just lucky to have one of the models getting both renders to stay.
The reason why these type of renders(simple models with a plain background, or only a rendered minifig) are being deleted is about storage. Scrubs pays for storage on the servers and "Mecabricks is not a image sharing platform." The site is growing with more users each month and with that more and more renders which makes the storage run out eventually.
I suggest you do as in this post, upload the images of this kind to a image sharing host and link them in the comments.
Renders that are shown on the front page is always the last six renders uploaded, not selected as the models are by admins. So that may be confusing sometimes making users wonder why their renders are deleted while others(similar to your deleted ones) are showing on the front page...
Sealund comment is spot on. This section of Mecabricks has been created to show artistic work - or in some cases special technical abilities. Mecabricks is about 3D models and the focus and resources are directed toward this goal. Images are a nice to have only. There is no point posting an image if the 3D model can show pretty much the same thing. Lots of people may be new comers to this activity and often these trial images do not have a place in this gallery. That is why they can be posted on a third party platform and published on Mecabricks in the comments.
Again an example from MrmoTarius' gallery:
@Scrubs I understand, but what i dont get is why there is so much inconsistency? Why are some images allowed while some are being deleted?
If we should folow your responce to the dot ("There is no point posting an image if the 3D model can show pretty much the same thing.") there would be NO renders at all here as the models can always show everything as you can rotate them as you like.
I'm not arguing just to argue, but I'm trying to understand the rules around this.
But note taken, and only ONE render pr model from now on. (I asumne that will be allowed as long the quality of the render is good?).
And yes I know that only 6 images are shown on the main page and that thats only the newest. I wouldn't call the renders deleted unless they were actially deleted from the "Renders" section of the model.
When everybody will have RTX type GPUs enabling live raytracing for all, yes renders won't be needed anymore 😉
It is also an opportunity to work on lighting, non LEGO environment objects, compositing, etc. like the Ratatouille image on the homepage which is kind of a lifestyle image.
I know that the moderation of this section can be a bit inconsistent but it is already really painful to do. So many people don't even bother reading the rules and I spend my time deleting stuff that clearly have no place here.
I guess if I follow the rules, I shall delete a lot more. I am trying to be a bit more lenient sometimes.
@Scrubs
Thanks for the answers. I will try to be more selective with which renders I post.
With that said I really appreciate this site and the job you do moderating it. Please know this is not criticism, It's me trying to get my head arount the site rules so I wont mess up 😉
It is all good. I have no problem answering this kind of question 😃 I am sure lots of people will be interested in this thread. Happy building and rendering!
