Hi, I am working on iPad too and I noticed that if I try to add a baseplate (3811 for example) on a new model, the browser (safari) crash and reload the page .
This is the same problem when I try to open a model containing a baseplate.
Is your model is also containing a baseplate ?

Big base plates require a good amount of resources. And 3811 hasn't been converted to the new system so might be even worse.
iPad especially if a bit old will be in trouble to open big models. Mine from 2018 cannot do much more than 1K or 1.5K parts models. WebGL and the browser just crash when the GPU cannot handle it. There are no warnings. It is how it works.

Hi, I have an iPad Pro last generation and sometimes I am able to import 3-4 lego modular Building in the same project, so ressource is not a problem.
Since I use your tool I never had troubles like this. Since new update I can’t open models which have a baseplate (crash opening models with baseplate and crash just adding a 3811 for example on a new model with no other parts)
Hope when all parts will be converted, I will able to use mecabricks again 😃

I just tried with my iPad. 3811 makes it crash but not 4186 which is converted and even bigger (48x4😎
