Export without bevel?

Is there any way to export to obj or to blender without a bevel? I exported some things in the past and it didn't add bevels to tiles and studs but now it does. This is quite annoying when I want to add my own higher resolution bevel, or subdivision to a mesh.

I had a workflow for automatically untriangulating and adding a procedural bevel to any brick I needed one on and now that doesn't work. Also some meshes have more geo than they need. Like 8 x 16 tiles have loop cuts near the corner but not in a way that gives the corner definition if subdivided. So now there's a lot of clean up to get things to the standards I need

This is a render of something I'm working on and as you can see, pretty much every brick is beveled, that's become a lot harder since I last worked on it.

I believe that you mainly talk about the flat tiles. Flat tiles do actually have at 45° Flat bevel in real life compared to other parts. That is why it has been decided to include it in the geometry in order to be more accurate.

Extra loops on flat tiles are made to resuse as much as possible the assets (normal maps, etc) to optimize real time rendering in the browser.

If you use the mecabricks add on for Blender with zmbx files, you will notice that meshes are not all triangulated on the contrary of other formats.

Everything is made for a reason and carefully thought of.
