Hi everyone.
Here is a big question, I am placing some scenes and/ or a MecaFig into Blender.
At the moment with MecaBricks and Blender I am trying to figure out workflows etc and understanding the bricks and size and possibilities.
At the moment I am a bit lost with the UV maps. I have some examples and some downloads from scenes as well as some I made myself (trying to put my 2 year old son as an Lego avatar into a scene).
Using the advanced importer.. where does it get the texture files from (besides color information etc) when I import from .zmbx?
Using .dae I know there are folders including them.
If I want to customize upper bodies and heads etc, which files do I have to change? And where is the advanced plugins database?
With the MecaFig I do not have any UV maps working. I have not figuered out why yet. Even if I link the correct png to it..
Do the file names have to match exactly? Like 3814uv.png or if I have heaps can I name them what ever like 3814uv_brandlogo.png?
And for now my last question as an extra, when you guys want to include kids as mini figures, what do you use? the babies are too small and don't have hips.. the head is a special one and smaller? Do you use a normal head, normal upper body and maybe the shorter legs?
Thanks
Max
For zmbx, everything is encoded in the one file. Just use decorated place holders in mecabricks. Once you imported the scene in Blender, you can access the material and load your texture instead of the place holder. The name can be anything.
For kids, LEGO made New smaller legs last year. You can find them under the reference 37364.
