Set Rotation Point

So I am working on a star wars ship with rotating wings and I am wondering if there is a way to change the pivot point permanently. I have the wing grouped but when I try to rotate it I have to change the rotation point to the end of the wing because it keeps defaulting to the middle of the selection. Any help is appreciated

You can set the default point for a part or a group in the object panel with the set origin button. However, there are currently only available for the session. They are not saved in the file. It will become the case soon.
