Mecabricks, or Stud.io?
Bricknado a commencé cette discussion dans General Discussion

Hi, I am working on a project that will require custom decorations for many if not most of the pieces. Would mecabricks be the place to do the project? I have started in stud.io 2 because it is linked to part designer, so I can make my own decals, but if possible, I would prefer to work here on mecabricks. Thank you. 😃

Hello Bricknado,
I am not too sure about the timeline for your project but custom decorations are being implemented on Mecabricks right now. Actually, the new part manager that has been released yesterday supports them. I have been working on the new Mecabricks part system for the past 5 months and it is all coming together now. These custom parts that you can create in the part manager are not available in the workshop yet but this is the next step of this massive redesign project.

WOW 😮 I am so excited for the final step. Thank you so much for dedicating so much of your time to improve mecabricks.

Amazing! Can't wait to have this available and will continue to support it.

Can't wait to see the final product. I have one question though, can you just create your own custom decals, or do you use some that are already made?

(No offense of course)
I would use stud.io. It is really much easier, especially if the decals are already images. 😛

@GeneralEnthusiasticToilet can you expand on that? Making custom decorations for mecabricks in the part manager is quite simple. You just have to upload your texture and call the part configuration. Literally takes 5 seconds to set up.

Well, I find it easier when making large builds. But to each his/her own!

@Scrubs

How do you get to the parts manager?

Just click the "parts" section on top, the one right next to "library".

@Bricknado

Thanks, but do you know how you create your own decals?

Information about how to create the textures is available here https://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/1582

@Scrubs

Thanks

I like mecabricks more because it has more parts and the moving bricks by arrow system ( while infuriating at first) is much easier than stud.io once you get used to it. Also, rendering is better.

Yes. I used to use Stud.io, but Mecabricks is way better.

That's what I heard.
