Separating hook from arm.

I'm having trouble separating hook from Baron Von Barron's arm. Whenever I try to do it, the hook together with the arm separates from the torso, but I want to separate ONLY the hook from the arm.

That is an old assembly and subgroups used to be locked by default. Just unlock the arm subgroup in the group tab.

I don't know what the groups are for and what they represent. Where's the arm group and how do I unlock it?
