missing parts after ldd import
m. a commencé cette discussion dans Bug Reporting

So i understand that the flexible tubes are dissapearing because of the differences in programs, but there are also many other parts that are avaliable in ldd but mecabricks workshop part library lacks them, i understand that it is not likely that the library here would be upgreaded each time after ldd got new pach but, at the same time ldd paches does not occure such often (currently it was something like 1 patch per year if i'm correct). Your library has some of the newest pieces that aren't present in ldd, however it also lacks a lot, for example it seems that it doesn't have a nuber of parts that were introduced between 2011 and 2014, its like five years ago. I didn't have much time with mecabricks but it seams that almost every thing i had designed and wanted to import for good quality render has at least one part that does not get imported, so the question is:

  • is there gonna be any update to at least partially fill the gap beetwen the ldd and mecabrics ?
  • if not is there any better way to import ldd files in to blender, without having to model and replace missing parts in blender after importing ?

Hello,
Modeling parts takes time and skills. A lot of it. It can take 2 or 3 full days for complicated elements. As you may have noticed, Mecabricks parts are much more detailed and accurate than LDD which increases the design complexity. I am also working on an upgraded part system that will bring digital LEGO models to the next level.

All of this to say that it is not as simple as it looks. Mecabricks already includes about 16,000 elements for about 3,500 mould designs and the remaining task is massive. But yes, the goal is to have as many elements as possible available and it is growing everyday.
