Howdy,
I am a science teacher who wants to use Mecabricks to have students explore urban planning. I want to allow them to copy a model from my account into their own accounts and be able to modify it for the assignment. This would significantly cut down on the time it would take them to copy my "base plan" by hand. Would this exporting my file and sharing it with them? Is there a way to do this online?
The easiest solution would be to make your base model public. From there, they just open it. They won’t be able to update your base model, but they can save a copy that they can work on.
I really hope that I can work on a solution for classes before the end of the year.
Hello @Scrubs, is there a way to share a model between two users other than the method described above?
@dtriangle not at the moment. It will be possible next year with Mecabricks redesign.
For anyone who finds this and is looking for a way to transfer one model to another user and for @Scrubs (this may be considered a bug)
Here is a work around: if you open a model and then log out, log back in with the other user and then save the model it will be transferred.
Yes that is a solution. I would say that it is not transferred but cloned as it creates a duplicate. That is intentional. Logging out in the workshop doesn't reset the scene. It only clears the former user linked data.
True, duplicated would be a better definition.
