Hi! My name is Aled and I'm a designer and illustrator and LEGO fan based in London.
I've been commissioned to work on a Minifigures project that that will be published and will be a mixture of studio photography and (with the blessing of Scrubs) 3D using the magic of Mecabricks. There is a ton of amazing minifigures already in the Mecabricks library but I would love to have access to as many of the collectible minifigures as possible - specifically, the series 1-18 LEGO themed/costumed characters and creatures, and not the licenced series such as Harry Potter, Simpsons, Ninjago and The LEGO Movie (which are all separately licensed).
By my count, there are 58 of these 288 Minifigures on Mecabricks and that leaves a lot still to do! I am a rank amateur when it comes to 3D modelling but I am learning as quickly as I can so that I can contribute to this and other aspects of Mecabricks. I am a half decent graphic designer though and creating decorations in vector is something I can do quite happily. I'd love to be able to collaborate with the 3D modellers of the community to try to add as many Minifigures to the library as possible. I appreciate that modelling Minifigs that feature unique and unusual shapes is challenging and time-consuming and also ideally require the designer to be in possession of the Minifig so I am grateful for any contribution.
I can't promise they will get used in the final cut, but there is a chance that the model you create will be featured in a project that will be published globally. Any additions would be really appreciated and will give me a bigger pool to work from. If you can create and submit any Minifigs, please make a note in this thread of which one you are working on.
I have a spreadsheet of all Minifigs and have marked those that already appear on Mecabricks. Depending on the response here I will share a list of those that would be most useful to me. Happy to respond to any questions!
Cheers,
Aled
I've made decorations for the Jewel Theif, Wrestling Champion, Farmer, and Kendo Fighter from Series 15. They've been sitting in the Drop Box for close to a year now, still waiting...
Ah! Is it possible to see what has been submitted to the DropBox? I'll take a look. Need to recruit more 3D Designers.
Yes, just right-click on the image, click "Open in new tab", then right-click on the image again in the new tab, and then click "Save as image" to download it.
Hope that helps.
