Brick Adventure Game: Planet Quest
AdrianRayner a commencé cette discussion dans Community

We need your help to bring an adventure game to life. We are looking for people that want to be involved in creating content for Planet Quest using MecaBricks.

Please take a look at the pictures at the link below to have an understanding of the look and feel of the game, plus a small gimps of the story.

We are looking for mad max thunderdome style town with isolated outposts and locations to fill the world, It's a rough junk almost steampunk planet with space traders, pirates, hidden danger and exciting characters.
Locations are small dwellings/huts, workshops, ship repair/refuel, markets etc. Lots of makeshift not perfect places that look like they have been made from scrap or ship parts, nothing big and complex at this stage. Also any land planet vehicles or smashed destroyed ones.

This is a ultra creative project that is not in line with normal brick builds, but I'm keen to see who wants to be involved, if we get enough support we can release a free playable version for the MecaBricks community.

Thank you
Adrian

I made a "Blacksmith's Shop". You can view it here: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/PKbjQ0BQ2dG

Thanks! Does this really get to be in a game?

Oh this is great. Yes this will go into the game. I like that it's open and like a pop up shop or market, it's fits the world well. Well done and thank you. I'll put some pictures on the Facebook closed group.

Build #2: A Pirate Scavenger Mech! https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/X1k2qZBEjE0 I can change the color scheme if this is too random.

Nice I'll add them to the game soon. Thank you.

Hello! I've got another one in the works. Could you "edit" your first post on this topic to have the youtube link, not just the other? Also, what is the kind of time frame you're looking at for this game's release? Like 3 months or 2 years? 😃

Hey, I have put the video link in this top post. It is hard to place a time frame on the project as I have a lot of coding in the works for all the mechanics of the game but they are progressing very well. I will share a minimal viable product with you when I get to that stage, but the more help I can get with the assets (buildings and places) the faster I can get it done so if you know anyone in this community that can help it would be appreciated.

I have created a quick website to keep everyone updated with photos without having to sign into social media, plus added the blacksmith.

Some of the materials/ decals will be missing at this stage of development but will be revisited in the future.

Awesome! Here is the fourth build: A small Octan refueling station. https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/L0Qa3bq6vMo
You can actually message individual users you feel would like to help 😉

WOW I like this a lot, it really fits the look and feel. This is a great model and can be used with an animating ship. I really like it. Well done.......Again. 😃

Here are some that might work in the game you are creating:

Bedroom

Workout Equipment

Skatepark

There are renderings of each model on their page.

Thanks Samino, I do like the builds you have done but they do not quite fit the story of the game, this is a rundown space port that has characters living in buildings made from junk and spaceship parts, smugglers and traders come and go in spaceships. Its a dead planet a bit like tatooine in star wars. The story is you have crashed on the planet and now need to find a way off but no one is helping you.

Thanks again I appreciate you showing me your models. I can look at some more if you can build some that fit the story. 😃

Adrian

Your welcome. I didn't think they would work. I thought I might as well try anyway. There probably will be no more models for me to submit for your game (I'm a terrible MOCer!). That is one of my areas where I lack talent. Renders, Blender, and C# are more my thing. 😉

Oh nice how good at C# are you. Also you are welcome to do some animation for the game in unity or blender if you like. 😃

Would it be possible for you to credit the builders in the game?

Absolutely. Everyone that contributes to the game gets a credit.

OK! 😃 I'll try and think of some things to build. So long you can use my Micro Space Pod if you think it will work: Micro Space Pod. Minifigs don't fit inside though. 😦

@AdrianRayner I'm still learning C#. Would I just animate a minifigure walking in Blender and just send the .blend file to you? I'm not very experienced in animating, but I could give it a try. Right now I am pretty busy with some other projects of mine (finishing up a decoration, making custom minifigures, etc.).

@cpBrickMaster. I love both models and will place them into the game. It's ok the minifig does not fit it can be a ship next to a hut or a crashed ship etc. Thank you they are great.

Adrian

@Samino. Thanks for the info. When you are ready contact me and we can talk about the animations. Thanks for letting me know what you are interested in.

Regards
Adrian
