Tips for Modelling Custom Parts?
WipeoutZone a commencé cette discussion dans General Discussion

So I've been trying to model some custom parts in Blender, and I've come to find out that I don't know very many secrets, or tips, about the program. I thought I'd put this here to see if maybe Scrubs or some talented Blender user could give me some tips on modeling parts? I just don't quite know where to start.

Any tips or advice would be great! (And yes I have seen the How to model a new part topic, I just wondered if there was anything else I could use)
Thanks!

I learned some things about it when I watched a livestream by Citrine's Animations, but I really don't know that much about it myself. Anyways, here's what I do know so far...

  1. Have good reference images. (I believe on for front, back and sides)
  2. Model a flat version of the side view and front view.
  3. Take the vertices on the front and drag them forward until they snap to the location of the side view vertices.
  4. Then fill in the faces.

Again, I don't know very much about it at all, so I'm sorry if that wasn't very helpful, but if you're interested, here's a link to the livestream I learned this in.
