Hello, Scrubs. I have noticed that for some basic bricks and plates, there are new icons that are more light-colored and seem to have harder edges than the rest. Especially when I look at bricks with lots of studs, it is now really hard to tell how many studs there are because of the lighting on the bricks. I don't know if this has something to do with the new automated part icon feature, but I definitely prefer the old look. Just a suggestion.
This is the new set up going forward. All icons will be slowly replaced. For bricks with a lot of studs or baseplates it is better to refer to the name which includes this information. It is displayed in the menu bar when the mouse moves above the icon.
I'm not sure what is happening with the icons the last couple of days. But I found the version with dark stone grey colors too dark. The icons with medium stone grey colors look the best. They are relaxing. It would be cool if you figure out a way to make the studs differentiate better from the bricks.
