How do you modify where items imported (via file > import) are placed? Selecting the insertion points does not seem to affect where the imported object is placed.

Hello. When you import a model in an existing scene, it is placed as per the parent scene and is not snapped afterward. The behaviour you describe was in use in previous versions of the workshop but it wasn't actually that great.
The imported model is actually selected so you can directly move it or snap it without reselecting it.
