Emitter material for the Render feature?

When rendering in Blender, I'm mixing a simple emitter shader with the default transparent brick materials for a lot of my models- this allows for some neat glowing parts like headlights, lamps etc.
Would adding such a material be feasible for the planned render feature for the workshop?

I'm not sure it should/will be added to the Workshop Renderer. It would slow down render times, which would cause longer wait times for other users. (Which as far as I know wasn't a problem in the testing phase, but when it's fully operational I can see it leading to issues, as there will likely be more people using it then.)

Also, the WSR (Workshop Renderer) is meant for very simple renders. If you'd like something more advanced, that's where the add-on(s) for Blender come into play. 😃

This is helpful. I like using the emitter shader too.

Improved lighting tools for the render feature will be added later for sure.

That would be nice. Lighting has always been a challenge for me. Do you think a script similar to the current one would work in the Blender Render engine instead of the Cycles Render engine?

No. Blender Render engine will be pretty much phased out with Blender 2.80 due to the new live viewport renderer called eevee.

Okay. I had head about Blender 2.8. Will rendering still take as long as it does in the Cycles Render engine?

This is different as this is not physically based and therefore faster like unreal engine 4. You can check videos online.
