Purple Minifig head
macnavi a commencé cette discussion dans Model Export and Render

After a render, I get purple heads. I like to understand why this happens. There could be two reasons:

  1. It happens to files I have already rendered in Blender once, but then added another object to it by importing it. The older item will have a purple head. But then when I re-import that file, it still will be purple.
  2. It seems to happen to heads that have been added in Mecabricks. I have designed my files in LDD, but the head will change to no-face in Mecabricks. So I replace the face. Those heads become purple. But the colour change doesn't happen to other items in that same file, which I had to re-add in Mecabricks, like window panes.

What is it I should do differently?

The example can be seen here. Look at the driver in the tram: http://svencentral.com/weblinks/mecabricks/purplehead.png

Did you make sure that you don't have 2 similar objects overlapping? If you can re create the error in a small file and share it, it would help.

On a side note, there is something wrong with the round edge shader on your p
Image. Did you scale the model down?

I'll test that.

I did indeed scale the model to 0.1. It is quite a big scene and might be even bigger, so to fit on the background sheet, I scaled it. I don't see how you can see that, what is the problem with the image?

I guess I have to figure out how to make the background sheet larger instead of the model smaller.

Oh, I just scaled the backdrop, that was easy.

Scaling the parts will break the shaders. I can see some sort of black lines in between the pieces and the round edge shader breaking. The correct method is to move the camera further - you can adjust the clipping point for the viewport and render camera if things start to disappear.

Thanks for the advice! I can see the image is much clearer now. Brighter and less grain. I couldn't figure out how to change the clipping point of the camera, that's why I eventually scaled the objects. But I found out eventually.
