Workshop randomly changing between local and global?
Sealund a commencé cette discussion dans Bug Reporting

Sometimes when building models in the workshop for some reason when i move parts with the keyboard it changes from global to local? I almost allways work in global unless i need something to be moved if it's rotated.
I also use the keyboard alot to move and rotate pieces and this is where the bug kicks in. Every now and then the workshop change from global to local while i'm moving/rotating a part with any of the keys? If i move the piece back to where it was when i started to move it(not using undo but moving it in the opposit direction), it changes back to global?
This seem to be random, it's not always and sometimes it happens alot, my feeling is that it's more common in larger builds?
Anyone else who have this problem?

It feels alittle related to this problem which i also have some times, http://www.mecabricks.com/en/forum/topic/570/1, both bugs only appears when moveing parts with the keys, never when moving with mouse...

Are you sure you don't press the V key at some stage by accident? There is really no reasons to switch between modes. Function is really simple. The other issue you refer to is a bit different and I could understand if it was a real bug (even if I cannot replicate it yet).

Which browser do you use?
Do you see the word in the top menu changing from local to global? It may be the gizmo being a bit lost instead of the mode changing from global to local.

Yes, I am almost 100% certain that i don't press the V key. I keep my left hand on the mouse and my right on the numpad. 😉

I'm using Google Chrome on Linux Mint.

Yes, the word change from global to local. For example, when it occours, let's say i press numpad 4 to move a piece one step to the left, I notice that the word changed to local(because the piece didn't move in the direction i wanted it to), if I then press numpad 6 to move it back to where it was the word then change back to global.

I have also experienced that the mode chages back if i first select a piece and then change mode, with the piece selected, after one movement/rotation the mode can change to local. I have not noticed this if i change mode first before selecting the piece. But it's not always it changes mode... 😃

I will make some tests on my work laptop to see if i can replicate these "bugs" on that machine aswell(Google chrome on Win😎

I got it reproduced. Place a brick, select the brick, then click the global local select box. Now, start rotating the brick using the "arrow" keys either on your numpad or the normal arrow keys once and then normal behavior of a select box will take action.

Yeah, this is an issue with the select fields that doesn't un-focus. A bit like the part library category selector.
