Firefox goes blank

Please can you offer some assistance with a problem I seem to be having. problem has occurred 3 times in the past 2 days, working on 2 different computers.

Not sure if this would be classified as a Bug, but thought it the best place to start.

I am happily sitting building away at my latest masterpiece in the workshop, using Firefox browser and suddenly with no warning the workshop goes blank. No model, everything has gone and of course if I try to save it, it just sits trying to save and does nothing so I have lost all the work done since the last save. I have to close Firefox down and wait a while before trying to get on again. When I go to my list of models, the attempted backup appears, but is blank.

Time wise, I have not timed it, but I could be on for an hour or more, I don't know. Very frustrating. Should I be using a different browser? or is this something you have come across before that I can solve?

Hello,

Not really. What do you mean by blank? What exactly do you see? Just a white page? or is it the 3D viewport only that disappear?
Can you tell us more about your system/computer/browser version?

You know that you can use the "Recover Autosave" in file menu. When you restart your browser, the first time you go on the workshop page, you can recover the model you were working on.

Hi Scrubs. By blank, I mean that the model area goes blank, like the model was deleted, but the rest of the page is grayed out, and when you try to save, it just sits in the saving.... but never ends. I can see the saved file name when I reset but the model is still not there.

I have installed Google Chrome now to see if that helps.

Having said that, I have now had the firefox page open for almost 2 days straight and nothing has happened.

Flipping computers.

Next time it happens, I will take a screen grab.

Thanks for the reply Scrubs.

I think it is more an issue with firefox and your computer that might have crashed somehow and therefore the 3D data was probably all messed up.

Still having the issue and on 2 different computers and using Firefox or Google Chrome.

I have noticed that the memory goes up to 98% and stays there, with lots of hard drive noise, but even if I wait for 10 minutes it does not come down until after firefox has been shut down. On a few occasions, have had the Crash notification from firefox and once even had an Oops, WebGl problem I think it was when I was using Google Chrome.

Definitely seems to be a memory issues and I have to shut it all down before I can get it up and running again.

I am working on some really big builds though so not sure if that is the reason.

Funny. yesterday, I was getting crashes every 10 to 20 minutes, but today it has been working flawlessly even with a massive build.

Never encountered or heard anything like that. So I am not too sure what to say. How many parts do your models have?
Do you have anything running in the background?

Nothing running in the back ground. Its funny because on Friday I was working on a model and I was getting problems almost every 10 minutes or less. The same model the next day even with multiple additional parts and its working like a champion. Its been happening for a few weeks now on multiple different models. Sunday I must have been building for 5 - 6 hours and not a single glitch.

Once Firefox has shut down (have to use the Task manager to shut it down as it refuses to close normally.) and I give it a few minutes, I can power up again. Almost like an intermittent memory leak

As I say, this is happening on my two computers so I do not think its hardware related. Both are configured with Window 7 and only virus protection on the main computer so I do not think it is related to that.

Today, again good as gold. Built a few models during the course of the day for several hours and no problems.
