Mecabricks Animation

We have decided to call our Blender made Animation 'done', even though we are not totally happy with it, it had to be posted at some time. Time to move on to a new project.

Using Mecabricks models, we have posted our raw, sort of finished trailer-like movie based on a James Bond trailer we found on youtube and remade it. Pretty much a copy, but we did embellish a lot in places and made up a few different scenes but in the same vein as the original trailer.

We are not pro 3Ders nor movie makers, just a Dad and son who stumbled across the Mecabricks website while playing around with doing stop motion Lego movies which morphed into learning Blender and seeing what we could come up with.

Things then developed into doing the background music, special effects etc. Definitely not flawless, but we had a lot of fun doing it.

As it took so long, we had to re-record the voice of Thai Bind (Our James Bond Character) as my sons voice deepened in the 5 years since we started it so the lip sync is not as spot on as we first had it.

Take it for what it is, just a bit of fun.

Thanks to everyone who posted their models on Mecabricks, and I hope I have remembered to give you all credit. If not, sorry, its been 5 years in the making on and off, more off than on.

I hope you enjoy it, and it gives someone the inspiration to do something similar.

👍 Nice Job!

Thanks, Watch out for our new Thunderbirds Lego animation. Coming anytime soon (in the next 5 years)

Just started designing the models but need others to help improve on them as I have used techniques likely to get me thrown out of a Lego builders convention.

I could not find a single Lego Thunderbirds model anywhere other than as photos on the Ideas.Lego.com website. Nothing on Mecabricks site which I find strange but I guess may show my advancing age. I thought I would get the ball rolling and hopefully get others inspired to get involved and having shuddered at my offerings, do them justice by doing it properly and addressing a lot of my design flaws.

Cool! I will be on the lookout for some models!
Do you mean the show or the Air Force Team?

The Show. Thunderbirds by Gerry and Silvia Anderson. Done in 1965 but enjoying a few remakes.

Part one of my full length animation has now been posted on youtube if you want to kill some time.

All modelled in Mecabricks with the advanced shader plug in, animated in Blender.

awesome! Its looking really good in this one! 👍

Thanks, the learning curve is getting better. Making less errors but still a lot to learn.

Another Mecabricks modeled, Blender animation for anyone who would like to check it out. Thought I would try one of the other Gerry Anderson creations this time.

I have developed a different system for animation the mouths which i will use from the next animation which should give more consistent mouth placements for lipsync.
