What's the largest model you've seen in megabucks Scrubs? What's the limitations of mecabrick? Is it your server or the users local computer that sets the limit for model size?

The server is used to save and load models. The limit is more caused by what your browser (and generally the computer) can handle.
There's a good trick that you can use when building huge models: Hiding bricks (or group of bricks). So, whatever you are working is what you keep unhidden. That way you can build smoothly, even in situations with a lot of bricks.
